CARBON REDUCTIONFor this trip an international and domestic flight is required. However once you reach our destination your carbon emissions are low.
We visit Patagonia in shoulder season and airport and excursion transfers in one shared vehicle for the group. We stay in one location for 5 days and spend our time hiking so our emissions are low here.
We provide a conscious packing list for our guests.
Vegetarian and vegan food is available - although we also offer sustainably sourced local fish and meat. Our kitchen operates a zero waste policy and has a robust recycling scheme in place.
ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE
Our main accommodation is in a private nature reserve and is part of a conservation project, integrating research, education, and tourism in the El Chalten area. Local rangers accompany the group on daily hikes to educate and inform about the local biodiversity and ensure that tourism does not have a negative impact on the area. In the reserve they have stable populations of torrent duck and frequent sightings of huemul, a national natural monument, in danger of extinction. In addition, they are care takers of an ancient and extensive lenga forest. Our second location is a family owned eco farm in Calafate. The complex has been designed with sustainability at its core. The houses are environmentally friendly, built to save heat energy through thoughtful materials and orientation, and the family’s organic farm and small orchard reflect their commitment to organic growing.
A true family project, it has been lovingly built since 2003 while the owners raise their young children. Passionate about living in harmony with the environment, they have shaped it as a place that nurtures both people and the planet.

LOCAL ECONOMYOur Patagonia retreat takes place at a locally owned and run nature ranch and family-owned eco-lodge. We are committed to supporting the local economy and working with family run businesses rather than the big hotels operating in the area.
EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY
Our second retreat location is woman-owned, and around 90% of the people involved in delivering this retreat are Argentinian. All local staff are employed on fair wages with benefits. We bring a small team from abroad—our yoga teacher, and retreat host—but the majority of roles are local. This trip is LGBTQ+ friendly and led with inclusivity in mind. While the retreat is not suitable for guests with significant mobility challenges, we are committed to growing our accessibility strategy. We have been a certified B Corp since 2023.
