I had no expectations other than to go with the flow and listen. Andrew and Vonettq have fulfilled and are fulfilling their dream in such a manner as to share wholeheartedly with those who drop in. Memorable parts? I spent the first week on the Plantation, having treatments (massages), eating healthy, well cooked food, doing yoga and relaxing by the pool. In the second week I ventured out on a couple of trips to see the turtles and the elephants. The staff were warm and welcoming as were the other guests. Tips? Memorable parts? Going down to the river and behaving like a hippopotamus.....by this I mean wallowing in the mud. It was not only fun but made the skin feel good too. Tips? Don't worry about what stage you are at in your yoga practice. The teachers are highly skilled and can guide you regardless of your level. I was a beginner and therefore enjoyed the afternoon sessions that focused more on pair yoga. Also buy some of their honey if you can......it is simply divine. Local benefits? Yes,... Excellent...perfect in so many ways. . There is an energy that runs through the place and you feel connected every waking moment; as you find a quiet moment by one of the water pools, or take a walk with one of the dogs, attending a yoga class, enjoying a good night’s sleep. Memorable parts? The whole retreat was fabulous. The accomodation, the food, the instructors, the therapists, Julie and the team were all just first class. As a complete beginner to yoga I was a little concerned that 3hrs of yoga a day would be too much, but youc an do as little or as much as you felt comfortable with. Tips? We were very well looked after by our tour operator who made sure we had all the information before our arrival and until the day of our arrival with the airport transfer, and having someone physically there to greet us at Male airport to make sure we got on out last flight.
