This approach reduces environmental pressure while ensuring that tourist revenue supports conservation, tracks, parks and local infrastructure that depend on keeping Tasmania clean and authentic for future generations. We donate a portion of our profits to the Tasmanian Land Conservancy which acquires land for privately managed reserves that safeguard threatened habitats, native and endemic species of flora and fauna and important biodiversity across Tasmania. Tasmania itself makes a huge contribution to teh health of our planet, with vast tracts of wilderness, ancient forests, peatlands and clean ocean environments that act as carbon stores and biodiversity refuges. Over 40% of the island is protected through World Heritage listed wilderness, parks and reserves.

Dr Tonia Cochran, owner of Inala Nature Tours on Bruny Island, has been awarded the Medal of Order of Australia for service to Wildlife Conservation and Eco-Tourism.
