This project contributes to a low-impact form of travel by focusing on a single, fixed-location volunteering experience in the Attica region, reducing the need for internal transport and additional travel during the stay.

Volunteers remain based at the sanctuary for the duration of the project, which helps minimise daily emissions associated with movement and transfers.

The project encourages a simple, hands-on lifestyle centred around essential daily activities, reducing unnecessary consumption and supporting a more mindful way of living while on-site.

As the sanctuary relies heavily on existing infrastructure and donated resources, operations are inherently resource-conscious, with an emphasis on reuse, practicality, and efficient use of materials.

We also support volunteers in planning their travels to greece by public vehicles like trains or ferrys.

ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE

This project directly supports animal welfare and contributes to the protection and rehabilitation of cats in need across Southeast Europe.

Many of the animals at the sanctuary come from situations of neglect, abandonment, or abuse, and depend entirely on rescue organisations for survival and care.
