If one of our tours is labelled an eco-tour that means it only visits eco certified lodges.

The lodges and accommodation used on this itinerary are committed to the long-term conservation of the environment and wildlife in Tanzania. Our local agents are very active in supporting local schools and different environmental projects, managing donations from guests and contributing to the management of school projects. The camp owners work closely with the local communities in order to help improve the living conditions of the local people.

From migratory birds to iconic African cats and endangered rhinos, critical species are being threatened by increasing pressures such as population growth, industrialization, insufficient management, improper protection, global climate change and more. We seek to work with local stakeholders to defend, protect and conserve some of the world’s most imperiled species. People

The company we use own all the camps and lodges on this particular tour. The have trained and employed local people from surrounding villages and tribes to work in camp/lodges.

Each of the Elewana Collection lodges and camps of which the Arusha Coffee Lodge is one, works closely with local community projects, and seek wherever possible to employ and train from the local communities themselves. Supporting a variety of causes including several local orphanages, Elewana also recognises the desire of its guests to actively participate in helping these charities and therefore provide a unique opportunity for all those staying at the Arusha Coffee Lodge to donate, doing so safe in the knowledge that the money given goes straight to where it is needed, with no third parties involved.
