Another way is: extreme fun, as you traverse ruggedly beautiful and challenging landscapes in the company of likeminded adventurers, and expert trail running guides and coaches. You'll need to be fit, and adequately kitted out, but enthusiastic amateur trail runners are just as welcome as the more experienced, with a range of destinations and itineraries to choose from.
