Getting an edge

“If you want to spot a predator, especially without disturbing it, then you need to know what prey species it goes for, and where they are to be found. That is what gives you the edge you need and when you have an animal that is so famously hard to spot as the snow leopard, it’s doubly important. You can never guarantee a sighting, but your chances are much improved.”

“In Sarek you will definitely see plenty of moose, along with reindeer. We’ve seen golden eagles and white-tail eagles in the past, and even brown bear tracks. There are lynx and wolverines here too. In winter many moose leave the park, and many are shot by hunters because they eat so much vegetation. We want to see an end to that and for the moose of Sarek to be protected which is one of the reasons we created this trip. It was the idea of our husky-safari guide, who is local to this area.”

Bergslagen Forest

“People get very absorbed in the hiking and the scenery in Sarek, it’s an exciting trip. In Bergslagen Forest it is more easygoing but you are not walking the whole time. You’ll also be getting around by car or by boat. But again the wildlife here is incredible.”
