Family holidays in Bavaria
Memorable parts? Tough choice as it was all brilliant! I'd have to plump for the white water rafting - fabulous, but the via ferrata we arranged on our free day was also awesome. Tips? Make sure you take clothes for the day that you're happy to get very dirty and wet! And make sure you have a pair of trainers you're prepared to throw away after the holiday! Local benefits? Absolutely. Overall rating? Brilliant! Fabulous! Best ever! Superlative! I think you get the... (more)Kevin Groves

India wildlife camp, Jalore Wildlife Sanctuary
The highlight of my trip was the Jalore Wildlife Sanctuary. I was welcome by the owners of the land and taken around on night safaris by the son Ravindra. (more)Viveca Ott
Seeing all three cat species that live savely in the sanctuary was amazing (they where the reason for me wanting to go there). Jungle cat from up 15 m! (more)Yvonne Rijsdijk
We had a truly amazing holiday, we were looked after as if we were royalty by our hosts Gajendra and Ravi and wanted for nothing from the moment we were picked up at Jodhpur airport. (more)Philippa Marland

Dordogne self catering cabin sleeping 4
Memorable parts? Just being in such a remote location, no internet, no emails, no phone signal! Totally peace and tranquility! Having the raft was totally fab to play around on too! Also seeing the kingfisher, catching fish (returned safely to their watery home!) having deer as neighbours & listening to the stags rutting. Tips? The cabin can hold 2 adults & 2 children comfortably as the upstairs twin room is very low - if you are a grown up with back problems......ouch! But more than... (more)Sally Cowburn

Bali eco lodge bungalows in Indonesia
I hesitate to write this review for selfish reasons. Why? Because this holiday is so wonderful I'd rather keep it a secret! Situated on the southern slopes of Mt Batakaru in remotest Bali, this place is a pocket of paradise, far removed from the ravages of the 21st century. Having spent a week there I did not want to leave. (more)Daphne Donkin
Most memorable was walking through the rice-fields... It was just great. (more)Astrid Dello

Peru family adventure holiday
Memorable parts? We were hiking for few hours through beautiful Inca trail and at the end we had seen Machu Picchu in clouds and then in a full sun. Tips? Take good rain gear when you travel during wet season. We were there in December and weather was good, but sometimes we got surprises. Local benefits? I think we benefit local people. We visited places stayed in hotels, bought souvenirs. It seems, money we spend stayed there. I hope money collected in tickets will be... (more)Iwona Warszawska

Andalucia villa near Malaga, Spain
Memorable parts? The peaceful setting, serene surroundings and the warm and gracious hospitality of our hosts, Shane and Bea, are our fondest memories. From the moment we arrived until the minute we left, two weeks later, we rarely thought of our hectic, fast-paced life back home. The villa is a one-of-a-kind gem and we feel very fortunate to have been able to spend two weeks relaxing there and being wowed by the beautiful vistas and sunsets that greeted us every day and every evening. ... Kayaking holiday in Montenegro, Lake Skadar
Swimming in mountain pools and lakes, from the breathtakingly cold to the sublimely warm. Kayaking across an almost deserted lake and feeling special and privileged to be able to share in such a spectacular landscape...This has been an incredible holiday, we didn't stop saying how wonderful it was all the time we were there. (more)Jane Barnes
The Kayak trips on Lake Skadar blew me away. The relative solitude combined with the impressive landscapes on both the Montenegrin and Albanian sides of the lake made it one of the most beautiful places I've ever been....I really couldn't have wished for a better holiday. (more)Mandy Reynolds
I rate the holiday very highly indeed. We did a lot in a single week and came back relaxed and happy. We would definitely come again sometime. (more)Mike Jewson

Small group tours to Japan
Memorable parts? Walking in the countryside - seeing parts of Japan that I would never have discovered on my own and being guided by a reliable expert. Asuka, Dorogawa and the Mitarai Gorge were particularly memorable. Also - wonderful exotic food, charming ryokans and soothing onsens. (And the company of like-minded fellow travellers.) Tips? Ensure that you are fit enough to do the walking required, get a really good rucksack and carry as little as possible. There are drinks and... (more)Una Dinning

Wonderful holiday and great value for money. I'm considering running away to sea! (more)Patricia Moss
The most memorable part of my time on St. Hilda was the amazing spectacular scenery of Scotland, the sea lochs, seals, birds, jelly fish and the warm welcome. The knowledge and expertise of Colette and Michael on the whole trip. The lovely food, Colette is a great cook, but very modest! The being at sea. "It is a shame that once children arrive on the scene, plenty of once intrepid campers seem reluctant to venture far from home. Parents face a common dilemma. Whilst there is no doubt getting the kids outdoors can make for lifelong memories - the question is, will they be good memories? You may wonder whether taking the kids camping is worth the extra effort and planning, or whether only choosing kid-friendly is worth denying yourself the camping experience. I started camping with my son George when he was just two. Having set up tent in the New Forest, Spain and as far away as Up State New York I have come across plenty of families prepared to give it a go. Like them, it took just a little forethought to make our trip enjoyable and easy." Find out more about camping with kids in Helen Truszkowski's family holidays article.
