The highlight of my trip was the Jalore Wildlife Sanctuary. I was welcome by the owners of the land and taken around on night safaris by the son Ravindra.

The most memorable part of our trip was most likely the scenery we loved the mountains and woodlands. The next was the food as Nick is no doubt an excellent chef and Dasha a specialist with deserts.

Marks out of 10 - 10! Really enjoyed the set up of the cabin, very thoughtfully done with lots of information, loads of smashing little touches (loved the walkie talkies!) & fresh baked muffins as a welcome did it for me. The location was exquisite.

I hesitate to write this review for selfish reasons. Why? Because this holiday is so wonderful I'd rather keep it a secret! Situated on the southern slopes of Mt Batakaru in remotest Bali, this place is a pocket of paradise, far removed from the ravages of the 21st century. Having spent a week there I did not want to leave.

We were immersed in this really poor country, with the hint of past traumatic occupation and wars, and received the most generous opening of hearts from this 80% buddhist country.

Excellent experience, especially for the children. A great tour to get an idea of different ways of life in Morocco, from rural villages to big cities.

The time I spent at the agriturismo was excellent. The hosts were excellent with plenty of information about the area. Our stay benefitted the very small local community and the local farmers and crafts people.

Absolutely fantastic for ALL ages, young and old. Colette is a brilliant cook and the meal she made out of freshly caught Mackerel fish has set a very high bench mark to beat. Michael knows so much and is a very patient teacher. We miss them dearly - thank you for a trip to remember!

"It is a shame that once children arrive on the scene, plenty of once intrepid campers seem reluctant to venture far from home. Parents face a common dilemma. Whilst there is no doubt getting the kids outdoors can make for lifelong memories - the question is, will they be good memories? You may wonder whether taking the kids camping is worth the extra effort and planning, or whether only choosing kid-friendly is worth denying yourself the camping experience. I started camping with my son George when he was just two. Having set up tent in the New Forest, Spain and as far away as Up State New York I have come across plenty of families prepared to give it a go. Like them, it took just a little forethought to make our trip enjoyable and easy." Find out more about camping with kids in Helen Truszkowski's family holidays article.
