Description of Unusual accommodation in Lanzarote, Canary Islands
Enjoy a stay in the lap of luxury, with eco credentials firmly in place, at this unusual Lanzarote accommodation set close to the traditional Canarian fishing village of Arrieta.
Set within a relaxed and attractive finca, the old water tower has been converted into a stylish modern apartment, with marble floors and uninterrupted views of mountain and sea. Enjoy coffee on the balcony, before indulging in some of the many activities available close to the eco resort: surfing, kayaking, golf, yoga, horse riding and cycling, to name just a handful. Or just catch some of that glorious Lanzarote sun on Arrieta beach, a short walk from your accommodation.
With a kingsize bed, and en suite shower room, this light and airy apartment sleeps two very comfortably, but a child’s cot or bed can easily be added. If you are travelling as a couple however, perhaps upgrade to a VIP package that includes airport transfers and a bottle of Moet on arrival.
This eco retreat is as peaceful as it is beautiful, with mature gardens, and a shared solar-heated pool. All energy is supplied by renewable sources, and all the eggs at breakfast are supplied by the resort’s own free range hens. Whip up an omelette at the kitchen, and other meals can easily be found at the charming fishing village nearby, which has a good range of shops and restaurants.
Everything you need for a romantic, relaxed getaway on Lanzarote is right here, and a million miles from some concrete mega resort.

PlanetAll properties here are "Off the National Grid" and give guests the opportunity to experience firsthand, living with solar panels and wind turbines and using the latest renewable energy systems. We have installed the most up to date energy systems on offer, and they work very efficiently. The system in "Finca de Arrieta" is the largest on Lanzarote and runs on a 48 Volt system and has no problem powering the 12 dwellings on site. Other Green credentials include use of Grey water, Led lighting, solar pool heating, use of well water for pool, A+ class Fridge, on site recycling we separate glass, metal, paper and plastic, organic fruit and vegetable local produce boxes and being within walking/cycling distance to local amenities.
Other environmental practices we follow:
- Waste reduction - We encourage recycling and have bins locally. Any organic waste can be given to our chickens.
- Conserving water - We ask client to be use water sparingly.
- We use our own well water which is used for the swimming pool, we also use our grey water on our palm trees.
- Conserving electricity – We use only Wind turbines and solar panels
- Encouraging wildlife -We have planted many native trees and bushes to encourage birds.
- Building materials - the entire retreat has been built using stone from the 30,000 meter estate.
- The well and water tanks which are on the land and originally used for irrigating the farm land have been restored.
- Measures to educate staff & guests about our environmental practices.
- We educate guests/staff and local schools on the eco energy system provided.
- Office practices - We have low energy lighting, use laptops, reuse paper, recycle waste.
- Onsite company van is a low consumption 49cc 3 wheeler.
We have a hybrid electric Toyota Prius available for guests to use instead of a regular petrol hire car.
If you are looking for a car during your holiday we offer Electric and Hybrid cars, just ask for a quote.
We also offer Holiday Extras which include our Paella night at Finca De Arrieta and Meals delivered you can choose vegetarian/plant-based and low dairy foods (which reduce CO2 emissions)

PeopleAll the staff are people resident in the island so we create employment in the area. Local stone and trades men have helped bring the retreat to a beautifully finished paradise. We promote rural tourism and encourage our guests to eat out locally, visit local markets and use local amenities such as shops and sports facilities etc. We also encourage them to purchase local products and offer an optional local produce grocery box for arrival (additional charge).
