Planet
This 14-day rail journey connects Hanoi, Halong Bay, Hue, Hoi An, Nha Trang and the Mekong Delta, with extensive use of trains for travel between destinations. Train travel also gives guests the opportunity to experience Vietnam’s landscapes and local communities along the way.During the cruise in Bai Tu Long Bay and boat trips in the Mekong Delta and Nha Trang, we work with local operators and encourage guests to follow environmental guidelines, avoid littering and reduce single-use plastic. Guests are also advised to respect natural areas and wildlife during activities.
Where possible, we work with accommodation providers that have practical measures such as reducing single-use plastics and conserving water. We also share recommendations with our local partners on reducing waste, managing water and energy use, and using locally available solutions in their daily operations.
People
Throughout the journey, we work with locally owned hotels, restaurants and service providers where possible, including family-run eateries and small businesses in Hanoi, Hue, Hoi An and the Mekong Delta. We employ local guides at each destination, who share their knowledge of regional culture, history and daily life. In the Mekong Delta, guests can meet local farmers, artisans and small-scale producers, including coconut workshops and traditional mat-weaving families.
We encourage our partners to source fresh ingredients from nearby markets and farms, supporting local suppliers and introducing guests to regional cuisine.
Vietnam’s regions have distinct cultural traditions and ways of life. Our guides explain local customs and encourage guests to interact respectfully with communities through activities such as sharing meals, visiting markets and meeting local craftspeople.
