Nestling between Catalonia and France, the tiny principality of Andorra makes the perfect location for an active family holiday. The Pyrenees are your playground as you raft, hike and bike. Explore beautiful Andorra and dip into Spain, too, trying new activities but also stopping off in pretty hamlets or just soaking up the mountain scenery. You’ll be based in Soldeu at a friendly, family run hotel that’s only occupied by like-minded families and individuals who are travelling with us, so the atmosphere is extremely welcoming. Our experienced guides help every member of your family get the most from each adventure. There are activities to suit all ages, including scenic valley hikes and mountain biking. There is also the chance for some adrenaline-fuelled fun white water rafting down the Noguera River. This is considered one of the five best rivers in Europe for rafting, because it has plenty of safe exit points and long stretches of steady rapids. A free day gives you the chance to choose from lots of optional activities, including zip lining, horse riding, canyoning and fishing.
The activity schedule is really flexible, so if you’d rather relax in the fresh air for an afternoon, that’s no problem – it’s always possible to opt out – and activities such as biking are backed up by a support vehicle. Group sizes of up to 16 people are fine and we can split groups up based on fitness and ability, so everyone is completely comfortable with each activity and the level it’s pitched at.

Our family group sizes are small enough to avoid the crowds and reach some out-of-the-way places, but big enough for a good social mix. Our average group size of 10 allows us to hop aboard local boats, buses or trains, eat at friendly, family-run restaurants and kick back in traditional accommodation and homestays.
We know the biggest challenge on a family trip is keeping the kids entertained. So we’ve planned in advance. Nearly all of our hotels feature pools, and each day has a great mix of action-packed adventure and flexible free time. Your local leader can also suggest activities based on your kid’s hobbies or school curriculum.

In depth story review
Reviewed on 18 Aug 2018 by Anna Smith
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The mountain biking was great fun (we had no previous experience) and we loved the white water rafting (we have a 15 year old teenage girl). The staff at the Hotel were very friendly and helpful. The guides were great .
It was lovely meeting new like minded people and lovely that all the teenagers could mix too.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Great family holiday, its fun doing different adventures each day (walking , biking , water rafting etc).
The hotel is very basic but very clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Take good walking shoes, a fleece, sunhat, suncream and a waterproof in a rucksack each day as the weather can change. Take lots of snacks for the
walking trips.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Great Holiday, we loved it !
