Small group family holidays
Our small group family holidays are kid-friendly adventures made easy. You’ll join a group of like-minded families, following an itinerary created by our experts who really know how family dynamics work, taking pressure off the organisation front. Smaller group sizes give you access to family-run restaurants, village hotels and villas, and viewpoints that bigger tours can’t reach. And while groups may be small, the choice is vast – think kayaking and canyoning in Croatia, camping and camel rides in the Sahara, and Northern Lights chasing in Lapland.

Small group family holiday highlights
Why go on a small group family holiday?
For starters, it’s great fun. Meeting other families means company for adults, instant friendships for children, and expert guides to steer the way. The big decisions are made for you by our family holiday experts who will match you up with the best accommodation and activity centres. Most activities are included but always optional, so if you fancy a pool day, you can take a pool day. Suggested age ranges help you choose a tour that suits your family’s pace. You’ll also travel in the company of experienced activity guides who’ll support you all the way, whether clambering through waterfalls or looking for the best family-friendly beach.
Summer activity holidays: coasts, lakes & mountains
Our most popular trips are summer activity holidays – and it’s not just because it’s the summer break. These trips fully embrace the long, heady days of the season, making for sunny coastlines, mountains and lakes where cooling off is easy and an ice-cream parlour is never far away. Our adventures also embrace the place, putting you in the hands of local experts who know how to canyon, kayak, raft and bike in a way that safeguards both your family and the environment. Small groups mean smaller accommodation, such as a poolside apartment or a beautifully restored villa with sun-warmed dining terraces.
Winter activity holidays: snow, huskies & auroras
How about celebrating the cosiest season of all with a winter activity holiday? Short days mean embracing the dark – and the starry skies, crackling log fires, night skiing and Northern Lights shows that go with it. When you do get winter sun, it’s magic – sparkling fresh powder and bluebird skies for unforgettable snowshoeing and cross country skiing. Our winter activity holidays are action-packed, so you’ll probably get to experience all the above. And more: the joy of meeting a bounding pack of huskies who love nothing better than racing over the fells (and bundling up with the kids). It’s all about the wonder of the winter wilderness – and guides will take you beyond, spending a morning with Sámi reindeer herders and staying in lodges and aurora cabins.
Safari holidays: see wildlife where it belongs
There’s spotting a leopard lazing along the branch of an acacia tree – and then there’s spotting it alongside children whose excitement levels are off the charts. Elephants, lions, hippos, zebras… seeing animals on safari is like seeing a storybook come to life. It’s an immersive lesson in conservation too. Many of our lodges are involved in conservation and community projects that can inspire a lifelong love for animal protection.
There are many advantages to travelling in a small group: sociable sundowners; tried-and-tested family lodges; connections with some of the best guides in the business. You’ll also travel with experts who know how to engage younger wildlife lovers, mixing up jeep drives with walking and boat safaris, plus a raft of other activities. It’s a big holiday in remote locations – so let us take the research and risk off your hands.
