Description of Montenegro multi activity mountain holiday, all ages
Perfect for all ages, this multi activity holiday takes place in Durmitor National Park, in Montenegro, where our mountain camp is located. It’s a tranquil setting with beautiful mountain views and the forest of Durmitor only meters away.
This tour includes all transfers, at least five meals and four great adventure days, perfect for a fantastic mountain experience. Take a wonderful trekking tour through Durmitor forest, visiting two beautiful lakes, the Black Lake and Snake Lake. Try rafting along the Tara River, with a traditional Montenegrin lunch and the chance to ride the Adrenaline Zip Line over the Tara Canyon. The Ring of Durmitor jeep safari is a tour taking in some of the best views of Durmitor, with another delicious lunch included and wild swimming, too, in summer. You can also enjoy a brilliant day mountain biking through villages and valleys, fuelled by a pack lunch which we provide and stopping to swim when you want to cool off. If you prefer to tailor make this trip, picking out activities, just ask.
Durmitor is a wonderful location for an adventure holiday. Within a radius of just 20km there are 18 glacial lakes, four canyons, a large number of caves and 48 mountain peaks that are over 2,500 meters high! Durmitor’s Tara River is one of the cleanest in Europe and safe enough to drink. It also flows through the deepest canyon in Europe and the second deepest canyon in the world, only beaten by the Grand Canyon in the USA!
Our camp has four lovely self catering apartments and is spread over a large garden space. We have a total of six double bedrooms and six bathrooms, which comfortably sleeps groups from two to 12 guests. In the garden there’s a stone barbecue, the ‘barn’ where you can enjoy all meal times together and the 'den', which has a table tennis table. There is WiFi Internet and satellite TV (children/sport channels) in each apartment. We also include a mountain bike and helmet for all staying guests. Our camp is in the small town of Zabljak which has lots of restaurants, cafes and bars.

Reviewed on 11 Aug 2019 by Anthony McleodThere were four of us and we all enjoyed the variety of activities provided. The rafting may have been the favourite, although the scenery we saw through the trekking, cycling and jeep safari was amazing. We added a day of quad biking at the end of our week and all loved that too, the lakes we visited on this trip were beautiful. Read full review

Stan was an excellent host, took all the organising responsibility and also accommodated any request (drive to town, collect from dinner, packed lunches, welcome dinners and deserts etc) and the activities were a great way to explore the beaufitul scenery rather than looking at it for 10 minutes on a coach tour stop Read full review

PlanetWe have been living by the coast in Montenegro for over 12 years. We are lovers of nature and along with the stunning Montenegrin coastline we also very much enjoy the mountains of Montenegro and especially the UNESCO National park of Durmitor. We absolutely love and appreciate our camp which is surrounded by its perfect nature and it's scenic setting, and for guests to enjoy both adventures and relaxing. Along with pristine nature there is an abundance of great adventure activities on offer for all guests to take part in and we hope all our guests will have a relaxing and fun filled active holiday stay with us.
Nearly all of our activities have the concept of Eco tourism and mostly all of our activities are deemed as not harmful to the environment. Indeed the Durmitor National Park is a UNESCO protected national park and considered an 'Air' spa for visitors.
We provide all our guests with a friendly welcome BBQ meal and drink on arrival of stay. We also provide packed lunches and we buy all our produce directly from the market place, from local farmers in the area, such as locally produced jams, preserves, fruit berries, meats and cheeses. We also have a cultural day out where our guests shall have a traditional Montenegrin meal which again has all foods and drinks that are locally produced such as meats, wines and plum brandy, etc.
Our camp is surrounded by green fields, mountains and forests and we shall be discarding wherever possible all rubbish for recycling. We shall also have our outdoor lights run on solar energy and energy saving bulbs. We also offer our guests free usage of mountain bikes which we shall encourage our guests to use, so they can travel around the area by Eco transport.
Our team leaders are all local to the area and we hope to show our guests the benefits of protecting our environment on our activities. Our Hiking team leaders are also part of the conservation of the Durmitor forest and they will be explaining all aspects of nature to our guests on activities.
PeopleWe directly aim to create jobs and employ and empower local people in that region, which are heavily dependent on incomes from tourism in this region. Locals in the Durmitor region generally live from tourism or farming and so it's a massive chunk of their income to be involved within the sector of tourism.
We employ 6 team leaders and also have a staff for the day to day running of our camp. We are hoping that we shall be able to make a difference in the community by employing locals and they shall have a direct benefit of being employed and gaining an income from our weekly package stays.
We shall encourage all of our staying guests to explore Durmitor for themselves on free days and evening times, and hope they'll visit local restaurants, cafes and eateries in the town of Zabljak which will economically help other local business's.
This is our first season in 2016 and we shall hopefully be a success this year and we shall endeavor to include as much possible for local people to be employed and for income to be spent back into the camp and to stay with the community.
