Our activity holidays in Europe

Head to the mountains: that’s the first bit of advice for activity holidays – there’s no greater spots in Europe for mountain biking, rafting, hiking and canyoning. Then again, Sweden’s lakes offer top spots for kayaking and camping. But then again: coasts and islands are also fantastic for sailing and swimming. We’ve got a dizzying number of activity holidays in Europe, so you can make the continent your adventure playground: it’s safe, it’s welcoming, and it’s really fun. We offer activity tours across the continent from the UK to Turkey, and all our activity holidays in Europe are run by people dedicated to protecting the environment and supporting local communities.

Highlights of our activity holidays in Europe

Types of activities

Our activity holidays don’t all fit the same mould. Head to the Croatian coastline and you can enjoy spending time in and around the Adriatic Sea on water-based activity holidays – the perfect place to kayak, stand-up paddleboard, sail and swim. For high-adrenaline adventures – think mountain biking, quad biking, rafting and rock climbing – you might want to head to steep and wild settings like the Montenegrin mountains. Then again, you could enjoy more peaceful activities in Sweden’s Sormland: cycling, canoeing and hiking in a rolling countryside, or cycling, hiking and caving in Slovenia. Whilst many activity holidays rely on warmer climes (and warmer waters), not all do. In winter, head to Finnish Lapland for husky sledding, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.

The joy of small group activity holidays

At the end of some of our small group activity holidays there’s an award ceremony alongside that last group meal. Everyone gets a prize – there might be a prize for the person who can always be relied on to have snacks ready, the person who takes the best pictures, the person who is always first in the sea or first up the hill, or the person who is most likely to capsize the kayak. There’s laughter, fun, and a bittersweet atmosphere: it’s the end of your trip, but you’ve made lasting friendships. On our small group activity holidays in Europe, you’ll meet people from all walks of life who have one thing in common – they’re up for an adventure. They want to learn a new skill, to be out in nature, to make friends, to blow off steam, to fall in the water (maybe not).

Family activity holidays in Europe

Keep everyone happy and engaged without any of the organisational stress, thanks to our family activity holidays in Europe. These safe, fun trips can be done as small group tours – with a like-minded group of other families – or as tailor made trips, and the minimum age can be as young as four. Our trips are often centre-based trips, focused on a really friendly hotel, and only use the best, most fun local guides. So, whether you want pony trekking, stargazing, canyoning, high wires, paragliding, the French Alps, the Spanish countryside, the Croatian islands or the Azores, we’ve got a great, activity-packed trip waiting.

We were totally spoilt for activities but as a family we all LOVED the canyoning. The 5 of us who did the speleology also loved that. Another winner was the visit to the finca to see the olive/almond/grape farming.read more
