Responsible tourism

Responsible tourism: Armenia and Georgia Motorcycle tour

Environment

Transport
Motorbikes are a more economical way of traveling than cars. Modern cars, if kept in good condition, produce only quite small quantities of the air quality pollutants, but the emissions from large numbers of cars add to a significant air quality problem. Many time we see 5 or 7 seats car that accommodate only one or two passengers you should think that this is a waste of fuel. If they were to travel with a motorcycle the fuel consumption will be half. So, by using motorcycles we reduce the fuel consumption in order to obtain low carbon transport.

Waste
We reduce waste and pollution by asking our tourists to minimize the use of plastic bags, plates, bottles etc.

There is a public recycling center in Georgia, which helps the country to implement modern principles of waste management that include saving resources and getting the economic effect by separating and subsequent recycling of waste. Separation corners offer an opportunity for people to take their sorted waste: glass, aluminum, plastic, paper and dispose it into the proper bin. So, we always encourage our tourists to throw their waste in the right place thereby help the country.

Water
Armenia is mountainous country and is reach in spring pure water. The water that flows here from the tap is clean and drinkable. Also in the capital and in other cities, there are special fountains with drinking water almost on every street. That's why we ask our tourists to use reusable bottles and fill them with water every day, and not buy water in disposable plastic bottles. To be on the safe side we advise travelers to bring drugged or metal filters to be sure water doesn't harm their stomach. Thus, all this helps to minimize littering and plastic use in the country.

We also suggest our tourists having with them bottles from hard material like steel rather than a plastic bottle because plastic bottles contain Bisphenol A (BPA), the chemical used to make the plastic hard and clear. BPA is an endocrine disruptor which has been proven to be hazardous to human health. It has been strongly linked to a host of health problems including certain types of cancer, neurological difficulties and so on.

Energy
We encourage our tourists to conserve energy and maintain the use of air conditioners, lights and other electrical equipment to a minimum.

Community

Friends & neighbors
We understand that each tourist can give a huge impact to the local communities while getting acquainted with their daily life. This gives a chance both to the tourist and local people to meet each other's cultural differences.

During our Motorcycle tour to Armenia and Georgia, our tourists take not only standard routes but also stop off in small poor villages and communities which are rarely visited by foreign travelers. Thus we help them to earn some money for living.

We always encourage our tourists to visit local markets, buy souvenirs, local products from local stores and visit local restaurants. That helps to invest money into the local economy and gives the client a taste of the local cuisine.

During the journey through the countrysides of Armenia and Georgia, our tourists often make spontaneous stops at the roadside when they see something of interest to photograph or see a roadside stall offering something unusual to eat. Buying local foods also puts money into the local economy.

A fair deal
Our company aims to maximize the positive benefits of tourism for host communities. This includes training and employment of local staff, using local suppliers and assisting in the development of sustainable local businesses.

Travelling with respect
We always inform our tourists about local customs and traditions, communication issues and rules of conduct in the churches. Thus, we minimize the risk of misunderstanding with locals and disrespectful behavior in religious places.

We also try to make a good relationship between tourist and locals by organizing lunches or dinners at local’s home. This gives a chance to both tourists and local people to meet each other's cultural differences and have a cultural exchange.

We’re trying through our activities to encourage travelers to approach places they visit with greater understanding and respect.
