Responsible tourism
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we screen every trip so you can travel knowing your holiday will help support conservation and local people.

A non-profit partner with many of these lodges is Peru Verde which expands their coverage of sustainable practices. This organization takes a holistic approach to conservation in the Amazon. They work on some truly amazing projects such as renting 1,800 hectares of forest from a tea company to prevent deforestation, protecting and monitoring the Andean Cock-of-the-Rock and numerous other species to prevent them from being hunted, and working with local communities throughout the southern Amazon to develop sustainable agricultural practices.
The Impacts of this Trip
We are well equipped to take full advantage of the numerous cultural opportunities available at Lake Titicaca. While many itineraries will simply include a stop by the Uros Islands we always encourage going beyond these islands to the further flung communities on the western peninsulas and southern shore of the lake. In addition to time spent with local communities on day tours we can also arrange homestays with partner families.
Additionally, in the Sacred Valley we’re delighted to have partnered with Awamaki, a non-profit organization who assists artisan women to start and run their own businesses. The founding idea of the organization is that women are ideally placed to invest in their children, homes, and communities. The objective of their efforts is to provide women with a reliable source of income in order to increase their quality of life and well-being in addition to preserving cultural practices that have existed for centuries.
