While reaching the Galapagos Islands requires a flight, it’s the only high-impact travel step in an otherwise sustainable journey. Once on the islands, we minimize our carbon footprint by organizing shared transportation among all participants for activities and leisure. We work with local taxis and encourage group travel to reduce emissions collectively.

On mainland Ecuador, we prioritize eco-friendly public transport to access our project locations. Our operations also reflect this commitment. At our Quito headquarters, we operate as a certified 'Green Office,' actively reducing paper use, conserving energy, and managing waste responsibly. Sustainability isn’t just part of our tours—it’s at the core of how we do business.

ENVIRONMENT & WILDLIFE

On San Cristobal Island, we work hand-in-hand with an inspiring local organization that has been protecting the Galapagos for decades. Their expertise guides long-term programs focused on removing invasive species and promoting sustainable agriculture, helping to restore and protect the islands’ delicate ecosystems.

Volunteers actively contribute to:
Habitat Restoration: By planting native species, maintaining trails, and restoring degraded areas, participants directly support the natural balance essential to the Galapagos’ unique biodiversity.

Species Monitoring: Volunteers assist researchers in observing wildlife behaviors, collecting essential data to support conservation strategies.

Community Education: Volunteers help lead awareness programs, sharing knowledge about the environmental challenges of the islands and helping communities become stronger stewards of their natural heritage.

LOCAL ECONOMY

Our programs directly benefit local communities by creating jobs and reinvesting in grassroots initiatives. We employ local guides and collaborate with host families and small-scale farmers, ensuring tourism income stays in the community rather than going to multinational companies.

A portion of each traveler’s fee supports project tools, protective clothing, and ongoing training, enabling locals to thrive in sustainable tourism and conservation roles. You’ll have the opportunity to connect with these communities, experience their way of life, and understand the real challenges they face—all while supporting their livelihoods.

During your stay, you’ll enjoy fresh, local food grown right on the farms where you work. This not only supports the local economy but reduces the environmental impact of food transport.
