As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
Much of the transport with the countries is carried out using public transport, an effective way to help lower your carbon footprint, mingle with the locals and soak up the scenic views as you make your way to the next location. A lot of our activities are based on walking from place to place. These walking trips will provide you with light exercise - looking after your well being, while also reducing the carbon footprint on the planet - looking after the planet’s well being!
All of the places we stay in are locally run and passionate about doing their part when it comes to the environment. On this tour, we stay in hotels, guesthouses & homestay, a great way to immerse yourself in the local tradition. Whilst you’re staying in each of these places, we encourage you to use local services on offer, this way your money goes straight into the local community and economy.
We visit Tra Su Forest on this trip. Just before we visit the park we have our Adventure Leader will speak to you to emphasise that there should be no flash photography, that you should not feed the birds and animals that the travellers see and that you should not disturb or scare them. We want our travellers to see the amazing animals and nature that is in Tra Su Forest as there is much we can learn from this experience but at the same time we want to make sure everyone is respectful so that the animals do not feel threatened in any way. This is the approach we ask all our travellers to have while on a trip with us.
We do not encourage our travellers to drink tap water in Vietnam and Cambodia however we still suggest packing a reusable water bottle in case there are safe refill stations so that we can still try to minimize the trail of plastic left behind.
We also recommend packing as light as possible, to help keep your carbon footprint low.
PeopleLocal tour guides:
You’ll have a different guide for each destination you visit, with each one being a specialist in their hometown. By using local tour guides we help support the local people and provide employment opportunities.
Majority of the activities in our tour is designed to give an insight into the life of the people of Vietnam and Cambodia. We include experiences that allow our travellers to soak up the language, culture and history of different cities and small villages. Activities such as the walking tour of Hoi An's ancient town and Siem Reap and visiting the bustling local night markets are designed to do just this.
All of our customers’ interactions are with local suppliers, and we promote integration between travellers and local people through our “unmissable” included activities and our optional activities, and opportunities for authentic cultural immersion.
Our Adventure Leaders are trained in ensuring that customers are aware of local customs and traditions, educating them on when it is appropriate to take photos and/or videos.
