Kayak and biking holiday, Vis Island Croatia
Description of Kayak and biking holiday, Vis Island Croatia
Hop over to Vis by ferry and be welcomed into this lovingly restored stone house near the best beaches. This small group biking and kayaking holiday on Vis is as much about relaxation as it is about adventure. Kayak to secret coves, cycle quiet tracks, savour fine local wine and swim in stunning island bays.
With just four rooms available, this truly is a small group holiday where you can participate as much or as little as you like. Your days can start with morning yoga at the water’s edge, or a sea swim. Then choose whether to kayak, bike or both each day – there are routes to suit all, including a kayak into the very narrow entrance of Stiniva Bay to snorkel and climb and to cliff jump into its pristine water.
As for the biking – the island is quiet, with single track roads, off road tracks past farms and vineyards, and the challenge of cycling from the top of Mount Hum, the highest point, down to sea level.
You’ll get a day off mid-week for more adventures, to chill out at the property, or to try and master the art of slacklining. Foodwise, you’ll enjoy vegetarian, and predominantly plant-based meals that make the most of locally farmed produce. Your hosts are keen bakers, so there’s lots of cake, too!
This long-standing partner of ours has created a relaxingly active retreat. Yes, it’s super laidback, but also committed to providing holidays that are low impact on the environment whilst also benefitting the community on Vis through local purchases and employment.

CARBON REDUCTIONPrivate transport for guests on the Island is not recommended. Once you arrive to Vis Island, we will provide pick up and drop off to and from the ferry. On the days that guests are not eating at the house we will provide transport to and from local restaurants as a group, with local restaurants that are accessible by foot also highly recommended.
Our daily transport will predominantly involve a combination of kayaks, bikes and hikes. This is by for the best way to explore the many colour’s of Vis Island and it is far more suited to our goal of enjoying and preserving the beauty of Vis.
At our base, we are committed to small group adventures and have only vegan and locally sourced, seasonal ingredients whenever possible from our neighbours.
ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE
We only served local wine and spirits produced on the island. We are actively involved in beach clean initiatives and we have a policy of no single use plastic and we recycle where possible. As we are kayaking with our guests we always encourage an awareness of our environment and at the start of the week to chat to our guests about the island resources, our solar, respect of our neighbours, community and the responsible use of water and air conditioning. We also have a close connection to an NGO group of marine biologists on the island who we invite to chat to our guests who are interested in the marine life of Vis and we also help them raise awareness with various initiatives.

EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY
With close ties to the island, we make sure we use local guides and have partnerships with Vis Island businesses.
