CARBON REDUCTION
Travelling responsibly means being conscious of our carbon footprint. On this adventure, we opt for sustainable modes of transportation. We journey to the picturesque city of Kutaisi by train, a mode of transport that significantly reduces carbon emissions compared to other means.
Our exploration of Tbilisi is on foot, led by a local expert. We reach the remote Svaneti region public bus, further minimizing our carbon footprint. There is a lot of exploration on foot, as we trek towards Mestia, absorbing the breathtaking landscapes, and later in Ushguli, where the majestic Mt Shkhara stands tall. Our return to Tbilisi from Batumi is also via a public bus, ensuring our journey remains as green as possible. This trip is cabon labelled to give our travellers visibilty over the impact of their chosen holiday. Our business has a seven-point commitment plan that supports our Climate Emergency declaration, and we are the first global tour operator with verifiable science-based targets through the Science Based Targets initiative.
ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE
Our commitment to the environment extends beyond transportation. We choose to stay in a quaint, locally-run guesthouse in Mestia. This not only offers an authentic experience but also ensures a reduced carbon footprint due to limited guest numbers. A
s we traverse rural areas, our expert tour leader aids in identifying local botany and educates travellers about the importance of leaving no trace, ensuring the pristine beauty of these regions remains untouched for future generations.

LOCAL COMMUNITY
Engaging with local communities is at the heart of our travels. In Saventi, we delve into the traditions of the Svans, a community with a rich history in this secluded European region. Their unique language and traditions offer a deep dive into Georgia's cultural tapestry. Our stay in local guesthouses not only provides authentic experiences but also supports the local economy.
We include a cooking class with a local family, as well as visit a local farmers market so our customers can but local food from local farmers and artisans.
Every guide leading our tours is Georgian, ensuring that our travellers receive genuine insights while also contributing to the local community.
EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY
Local leaders and experts, with their unparalleled knowledge and passion for their homeland, guide our travellers. This not only ensures an authentic experience but also supports local employment.
Our dedication to sustainable and responsible travel is unwavering, and we continually strive to make a positive impact wherever we journey. Since 2018 we have been a certified B Corporation. B Corps that look after their staff, work toward a more inclusive supply chain, and take corporate social responsibility to the next level. For us, becoming a B Corp meant taking all the work we’ve already done – through our Foundation and our core operation – to the next level and conducting an extensive audit to ensure we meet the highest responsible business standards.
