This complete tour of Armenia and Georgia is a 13-day small group journey through two of the Caucasus regions most fascinating countries. From the lively streets of Yerevan to the atmospheric old quarters of Tbilisi, this trip combines ancient history, dramatic landscapes, cultural traditions and outstanding food and wine.
The itinerary begins in Armenia, where you explore Yerevans historic neighbourhoods, visit the ancient Christian centres of Ejmiatsin and Zvartnots, and discover monasteries including Khor Virap, Noravank and Tatev. Along the way, you visit the world's oldest known winery in Areni Cave, travel beside the shores of Lake Sevan, stay in rural villages, meet members of the Molokan community and experience the country's rich culinary traditions through tastings and local meals.
Crossing into Georgia, the journey continues with guided exploration of Tbilisis old town, the monumental Chronicles of Georgia and the spectacular Georgian Military Highway. Visits to Ananuri Fortress, Gergeti Trinity Church and the wine-growing region of Kakheti reveal the country's cultural and historical depth. Further highlights include the colourful town of Sighnaghi, the dramatic Diamond Bridge, the historic city of Kutaisi and the impressive Prometheus Cave.

Mountains,monasteries, food.

Be prepared for lots of driving.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
So many meals taken with local families was wonderful - no tourist traps, no tourist food.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
We had several lunches with local families which was a true cultural experience. The food and wine were amazing in both Armenia and Georgia. And the sights were phenomenal!
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
We would not recommend booking this trip if you want a a slow pace tour. You will have long days with a lot of driving. Some days we did not reach the hotel until 20.00 which for us was a bit late to be able to unwind and have dinner. We changed hotels every night in Armenia, so you will not be able to see much of the towns that you stay in. In Tbilisi, Georgia we stayed 4 nights at a hotel, so this was very nice. We got to know this city quite well and loved it there too.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, we stayed in locally owned hotels and ate at local restaurants often run and owned by a family.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
We really enjoyed our tour in both Armenia and Georgia. The guides were very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. We would love to come back!
