Travel guides

Machu Picchu
This incredible Inca citadel casts a spell over visitors today just as it did centuries ago.
Land based multi activity
These exciting holidays are a little bit out of the ordinary.

Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.

Planet

CARBON REDUCTION
To reduce the carbon footprint of our journey, we have opted for land transport as much as possible. The majority of our trip involves human-powered transportation such as walking and biking, especially during our treks across Peru. An example of which is our 2.5-hour biking ride down the Malaga High Pass straight into the lush jungle, and our adventurous day of hiking through the jungle mountains in day 2.

Our accommodation during the trip are basic, rustic guesthouses and a hotel located at the heart of each destination. These facilities are local establishments.
We also make it a point to advise our customers on how they can reduce the carbon impact of their holiday, such as minimizing waste and prioritizing locally-sourced food to further reduce our carbon output.

ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE
We conscientiously choose accommodations and activities that have a minimal impact on the environment, with particular emphasis on preserving the natural landscapes and wildlife of Peru.

Our travel activities, such as the biking and trekking, are designed to have a low impact on the local environment. Degradation of the environment and wildlife is a primary concern, and we are assured that our traverse along the lush Andean forests and the fertile valleys do not disrupt the local ecosystems.
We also include visits to protected areas like Machu Picchu and have strict guidelines for our customers about minimizing their impacts on nature. We strive to promote awareness about the delicate balance of biodiversity in the areas we visit.

People

LOCAL ECONOMY
A significant portion of our itinerary is committed to supporting the local economy. The accommodations we use for the trip are all locally owned, going from basic, rustic guesthouses to a locally owned hotel in Aguas Calientes.
Moreover, we frequent local markets and shops throughout the trip encouraging indirect support to local economies such as during our visit to the local marketplace next to the train station in Aguas Calientes.

EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY
Employment and support of local guides are prioritized during our trip. They provide valuable insights, anecdotal experiences and in-depth understanding of the destinations that can only come from somebody who lives there.
Our tours are designed to be LGBTQ+ friendly and inclusive for people from all walks of life. We see to it that our team, from the office to the field, is diverse and inclusive regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation or nationality. Moreover, we ensure that each person involved in this trip, from our partners to our employees, receive at least the minimum wage as we value their hard work and commitment.
