CARBON REDUCTION:We are committed to creating holiday itineraries that reduce our operational carbon emissions. So we have opted for one larger bus, rather than multiples of smaller vans.
Hotel Pla˛a Duce in Croatia has implemented several sustainable practices to minimize its environmental impact. The hotel has installed water-saving devices in its sanitary facilities. The irrigation system uses rainwater collected to use for green areas. The hotel employs various energy-saving measures, including the use of renewable energy sources. It also offers a charging point for electric vehicles, supporting sustainable transportation.
ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE:
This holiday has little detrimental impact on the environment and local residents. Walking is a quiet, low impact activity that requires comparatively little resources to support. Only our transportation for the start and end points.
Hotel Pla˛a Duce avoids and separates all types of waste. By 2022 it transitioned to entirely environmentally friendly packaging for all bathroom products. Cosmetics used in the hotel are packaged in bottles made from 100% recycled material, and all discarded plastic is reused for packaging.
All the vineyards we visit produce organic and sustainable grapes. Great for the environment, and better for the guests who get to try these incredible wine selections. All the restaurants we operate in, use locally sourced organic meats and fishes.
This small group tour has a maximum of 16 participants, meaning that we have a low impact on all of the communities we visit.

LOCAL ECONOMYWe spend the week in the family-run Hotel Pla˛a Duce, a relatively unknown area of Dalmatia. So our guests are providing income to Duce village area that does not usually benefit from tourism. All the hotel food is homemade, using locally produced items, which is great for cottage industries.
EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY
The trip visits many family owned small wineries, and all money spent here goes directly to supporting and maintaining these family business.
All the head tour leaders and guides are Croatian, from the surrounding Dalmatia region.
During the week, we offer to run a charity quiz. All proceeds go to a special needs school in a small village called Trilj.
We recommend buying crafts, organic produce and gifts from selected organizations, so you can help support local communities and their skills. It's great to know that the money is directly benefiting the local economy. Also preserving traditional skills.
