Travel guides
Learn what we rate, what we don't, and how to travel responsibly in our guide to Andalucia.
Our Spain travel guide has many fantastic tips to help you travel like a local and make the most of your time.
Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.
Planet
Our custom-designed journeys prioritize train & ferry travel, providing a seamless, scenic, and sustainable way to explore the world. High-speed rail efficiently connects major cities, while shorter routes make for ideal day trips from urban hubs. We avoid car rentals whenever excellent train service is available, reserving flights only for islands or routes that exceed six hours by rail. Within cities, we discourage driving altogether, instead equipping travelers with resources for local transit and curated walking routes that foster deeper cultural immersion. On this trip, you’ll even have the opportunity to explore the greater Barcelona area by bike. Each itinerary includes carefully curated dining recommendations for authentic local cuisine, When meals are included in an activity, plant-based choices are always available. For food enthusiasts, we create enriching culinary experiences such as guided tastings, farm-to-table dining, and private visits with regional producers.
In the second half of the journey, you visit a family-run olive oil estate that blends centuries-old tradition with modern techniques. A tasting follows this.
We proudly support Rewilding Spain, an initiative dedicated to restoring nature and wildlife while preserving wild landscapes for the benefit of society. We are also partners of TAP (Travelers Against Plastic), reinforcing our commitment to sustainable and responsible travel.
People
All of our activity partners are locally owned, independent businesses. We work exclusively with guides and providers who specialize in creating intimate, authentic experiences deeply rooted in their communities. In some regions, we also partner with small, family-run transportation companies—often just a handful of trusted drivers we know personally—ensuring that you’re supported by local experts at every stage of your journey.
On this trip, you can have a culinary experience that takes you on a flavorful journey through Madrid. You’ll visit four carefully selected restaurants, each offering a unique perspective on the city’s vibrant food culture. Family-run taverns will introduce you to traditional Castillan tapas recipes passed down through generations, while contemporary eateries showcase innovative interpretations of Spanish cuisine that reflect the region’s evolving gastronomic identity.
Later in the trip, you can journey to a 500-year-old olive oil estate, where you’ll meet the passionate owner and enjoy a farm-to-table meal in their company, surrounded by the groves that have sustained this family for generations.
