Accommodations with reduced carbon footprint: Our boutique hotel in Tbilisi for 3 nights is the country’s first sustainable hotel, running entirely on solar energy. The 4 other nights are spent in family and women owned small, local guest houses, where we also connect with their projects and family stories.

Human-powered transport as a core experience: Our itinerary includes human-powered exploration on four days of the trip — guided city walks in Tbilisi and Kutaisi, countryside hikes through vineyards and mountain villages, and optional cycling routes in wine country. We only use a vehicle for transfers between towns. These not only reduce carbon emissions but also create a slower, more immersive way to experience Georgia’s culture and landscapes.

Locally-sourced, seasonal food: Almost every meal on this journey is prepared with local, seasonal produce. We partner with family-run wineries, village cooks, and small restaurants that use ingredients sourced from their own gardens, nearby farms, or local markets. This farm-to-table approach keeps food miles low, supports Georgia’s rural economy, and provides guests with authentic culinary experiences aligned with the rhythms of the seasons.

Visiting the Prometheus Cave – one of Georgia’s natural wonders – where a small entry fee (8 EUR per person) supports the conservation of this unique site.

Exploring the Kakheti region and a pioneering female-owned winery, where visitors learn about sustainable wine production and entrepreneurship in a traditionally patriarchal society.

Stopping at the Tsitsamuri refugee village, home to a women-led social enterprise that strengthens the local economy and community resilience.

Staying at Eco-House Tbilisi, a sustainable boutique hotel that integrates rooftop solar panels, rainwater harvesting systems, lush green gardens, recycled materials in construction, and eco-conscious design practices to reduce its environmental footprint.

People

LOCAL ECONOMY

All three accommodations on this trip are locally and family-owned, ensuring that tourism income directly supports Georgian communities rather than international hotel chains. One highlight is Angela’s Guesthouse, founded by a young woman named Angela with the support of her mother, who worked abroad during the economic crisis of the 1990s to sustain the family. During our stay, we’ll have a personal conversation with Angela about her and her mother’s life experiences, offering a unique insight into Georgia’s social history.

Throughout the journey, we only visit local initiatives, all led by women. These include:
- A local mosque, where women will introduce us to the Nazmi singing ritual.
- A felt-making workshop, hosted by a local woman who will guide us through the process, from natural dyeing techniques to the creation of beautifully crafted felt products.
By staying, eating, and engaging locally, the trip maximizes positive economic impact while highlighting women’s entrepreneurship and cultural heritage in Georgia.

100% of the people we and our operating partners employ in Georgia are from the country, with the majority coming directly from the local communities we visit.

Our trips are designed to create income-generating opportunities for women, many of whom have historically been excluded from economic life. Throughout the journey, we connect travellers with inspiring women’s initiatives, including:

One of Georgia’s pioneering female winemakers, who will share her story and estate with us.
- Grandma Lili, the last in her family to make traditional Tushetian wool rugs, preserving a rare craft.
- A unique guesthouse owned by the region’s first female entrepreneur – also the first woman in her village to drive a car.

This journey is designed exclusively for women travellers. We warmly welcome women from all backgrounds, including LGBTQ+ women, fostering a safe, respectful, and supportive space to explore Georgia together.
