This luxury itinerary lets our guests explore the extraordinary landscapes of Chile and Antarctica while supporting the people who make the region so special.

Visits to protected areas such as Torres del Paine include park entry fees, which help fund the running of the park. Many activities are on foot, such as walking tours and hikes, and excursions run in small groups. That means fewer vehicles on the road, fewer emissions per passenger than private transfers and less pressure on busy sites.

Throughout the trip, local guides explain the landscapes and wildlife you're seeing and share practical tips for visiting responsibly. On the trails, that means taking all rubbish out, sticking to marked paths and keeping a respectful distance from wildlife.

In Torres del Paine, you'll stay at Tierra Patagonia, a lodge built from local lenga wood and designed to sit low in the landscape.

In Antarctica, you'll sail aboard the Magellan Explorer, a small expedition ship carrying a limited number of guests. Naturalist guides lead every landing and talk on board about the wildlife, ice and history of the region. All landings follow the Antarctic visitor guidelines, including keeping your distance from wildlife and cleaning boots and clothing before going ashore so that nothing is carried between sites.

People

People are at the heart of everything we do. We work with local partners on the ground, who employ certified local guides and drivers. Where possible, excursions are chosen to show the best of the destination, let guests travel deeper and support the local community. The cooking class in Santiago uses ingredients bought from local markets, supporting local producers and sharing Chilean culinary traditions.

Tierra Patagonia sources its food and handmade furnishings locally, celebrating regional culture, and hires staff from the surrounding area, so more of what you spend stays in the local economy.

The operators of the Magellan Explorer work with local communities in Chile, and guests can take part in citizen science programmes on board, helping to collect observations for researchers during the voyage.
