The lodge we work with is fully operational, and we are looking to use solar power in the future for hot water and electricity. The trip includes a domestic flight to reach Kharga Oasis, followed by overland travel between the oases and Luxor.

Meals at the lodge can include vegetables and other ingredients sourced locally in the oasis. Guests are encouraged to bring reusable bottles and avoid single-use plastics during the journey. We also remind travellers to respect the natural surroundings, including plants, desert landscapes and archaeological remains.

Local knowledge and planning can help travellers enjoy the Western Desert while respecting the places they visit. Travellers are encouraged to use water and electricity thoughtfully during their stay and to take their waste with them when exploring the desert.
