This 11 day adventure between Egypt’s greatest treasures starts with the Pyramids of Giza and the much-celebrated Grand Egyptian Museum, and finishes with the magnificent Valley of the Kings. Best of all, a glorious five day Dahabiya cruise forms the centrepiece of the holiday.
Travelling at a relaxed pace allows you to absorb Egypt’s history, landscapes and living traditions in greater depth, and your expert local guides will help immerse you in the country’s culture.
Your journey starts in Cairo, where a local Egyptologist will meet you to show you the ancient wonders, as well as city sights. You’ll also get a countryside experience and a meal with a local family.
Next you’ll fly south to Aswan to board your cruise. Dahabiya are traditional wooden sailing boats which have been used as pleasure craft on the Nile by travellers since the 19th century. As you cruise gently between villages, green riverbanks, and golden deserts you’ll appreciate why this mode of pleasure cruising has endured through the decades.
You’ll end your adventure in Luxor, where you’ll explore the magnificent Karnak and Luxor Temples, and walk through the magnificent Valley of the Kings – what a fantastic way to finish an epic trip.
