1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

What stood out most was the sense of belonging. I was travelling solo in my camper van and had booked three retreats in a row, even though this particular retreat was mainly designed for families. From the beginning, I felt completely welcomed and included. The creative activities, time in nature, shared meals, and genuine connections made it easy to feel part of the community. By the end of my stay, it felt like I had found a temporary home rather than just a place to visit.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes, definitely. The retreat supports local producers, uses food from the farm and nearby area, and encourages a simple, low impact lifestyle. It felt like tourism that genuinely benefits the local community while respecting nature.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

10/10. I came for a retreat and left feeling like I had found a temporary home, a community, and a much deeper connection with myself and others. A truly special experience. Zoe & Pasha have created a paradise!

Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.

Planet

Our commitment to environmental sustainability is deeply rooted in every aspect of our operations. We actively reduce our carbon footprint by using renewable energy sources, such as solar power, and building energy-efficient spaces. Our facilities are designed to minimize energy consumption, including a stone building with thick walls and eco-friendly heating systems. Organic farming practices are at the heart of our approach, avoiding harmful chemicals and preserving soil health. In addition to reducing waste through comprehensive recycling and composting programs, we prioritize the use of locally sourced ingredients, minimizing the carbon emissions associated with transportation. We also take pride in restoring local habitats by planting native species, creating wildlife corridors, and conserving water through sustainable landscaping techniques. Biodiversity conservation is a core focus, with efforts to protect local flora and fauna. Through education and awareness, we involve our guests in conservation efforts, encouraging them to participate in eco-friendly activities that benefit the planet.

People

Supporting local communities and empowering marginalized individuals is central to our mission. We actively source supplies and ingredients from local farmers and artisans, which not only reduces environmental impact but also stimulates the local economy. By promoting traditional arts, crafts, and practices, we ensure that cultural heritage is preserved and passed on to future generations. Our community involvement extends to supporting local projects focused on education, health, and infrastructure, with a particular focus on uplifting marginalized groups. We offer inclusive programs that are accessible to all, including scholarships and discounted rates for local residents. This ensures that even those with limited financial means can benefit from our services. Additionally, we conduct educational workshops and training sessions for local residents, especially children, to help them develop skills in sustainability, wellness, and hospitality. These initiatives empower individuals with the knowledge needed to improve their livelihoods while fostering a sense of community and belonging.
