Spending time relaxing in and around the stunningly beautiful accommodation. There really was very little need to leave. We had the most amazing time in a simply beautiful location with stunning accommodation. Our hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful without being intrusive. I would recommend this holiday wholeheartedly and can't wait to return. (more)Donna Linden
The most memorable was the overall ambience of the quinta especially swimming in the unique pool surrounded by beautiful countryside. This could be a 'no shoes, no news ' holiday if you wanted to make it - but you' d miss out too. (more)Angie Leonard

Memorable parts? The pousada at Estoi was remarkable, the building, gardens and food. They made a great deal of effort to accommodate my dietary requirements. Tips? Pre-plan the sequence of your weeks walking to avoid restrictions due to hunting, cafe closures and no buses etc. Local benefits? Benefited the local people but with the amount of driving to the walks questionable regarding environmental impact. Overall rating? (more)Susan Ryde

There are many memorable parts to this holiday but a couple stand out for both my husband and myself. First was the night sky, sitting on the deck after sunset, listening to the crickets and frogs , while viewing the most beautiful night sky, full of stars...incredible... (more)Susan Hall

Some of our lasting memories will be having our delicious breakfast looking down on the valley while our children fed the donkeys, ducks and dogs. We could not have asked for anything more. (more)Rachel Cavanagh

Memorable parts? Each and every day held it's own memorable moment. The beauty of remote, empty beaches, the fragrant miles of orange groves, incredible views from empty castles, the grueling but worthwhile slog up to Monchique, followed by the exhilarating descent....it was all good! Tips? Make sure you know the difference between the routes. One is mostly coastal and the day's distances and climbs are short. The other includes inland detours and mountains, and the distances are... (more)Greg Liebman
