Memorable parts? Climbing the Hai Van pass. We all made it to the top and were supported throughout by our guide Danh who gave us cold drinks and cheered us on. The food was also great and we were treated to genuine local cuisine, all delicious. Tips? Take more money than recommend, especially if you want to take presents home or drink wine with you evening meal. Some people couldn't get money out of the ATMs so tell your bank that you are going to Vietnam. You don't really need US... (more)Cath Lysley

Although I cannot pick just one, the guide (leader) has played a huge role. It would have been a totally different trip had the guide been of somehow lower quality professional, even if we went through all the same activities and places. Memorable parts? Cycling along the beach near Riga, and then down the Curonian Spit on beautifully maintained cycle routes through trees were both wonderful. Tips? Memorable parts? Two things: Seeing the Naadam festival. The friendliness and competence of the local staff - two drivers and two cooks. They will remain in my affections forever. Tips? The most memorable was everything, from my first foray into Prague to my last walk on the Danube in Budapest. Its the history, the glory, the subjugation, the castles, the rivers and the people. (more)Peter Perlmutter

Really enjoyed the Via Ferrata. The holiday was terrific. The weather was unseasonably hot but having a pool really helped. There were some local short bike rides (6-10 miles) as well as much longer tours for the more ambitious. (more)Caroline Vibert
The boys loved the Canyoning which we did with two other families and the location was chosen for the age of participants. The others would say the water pArk or the horse riding was the best part. (more)Rebecca Fleming
Varied local activities. Varied cycle routes and swimming in the crystal clear lake. First class. Fiona and Gareth and their team were the perfect hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Hope to go back again soon. (more)Russell Parsonage

Memorable parts? Cycling through the majestic peaks of the Drakensberg Mountains, cooling off with a swim in refreshing waterholes, wildlife spotting in Kruger National Park. Tips? Cycle training will give you a better experience as some of the rides are quite challenging with lots of uphill. Local benefits? Yes. The trip was relatively low impact and used accommodation owned/ run by local people. Overall rating? Awesome! (more)Jennifer Steward
Sicily cycling holiday in Italy

Memorable parts? Well, most memorable was possibly cycling up a zig zag mountain road in the teeming rain with a river coursing down the road!! That was freak weather though. Most memorable in a good way was the wild flowers, which were everywhere and spectacular, and the food, which was the best I have ever eaten. Tips? Do some training riding up hills! On two of the days there are very long climbs (and very long descents afterwards). Bring clothes for a wide range of weathers if... (more)Wendy Pillar

Memorable parts? The cycling Tips? Bring clothes for all weathers. We had one day when we needed sunscreen and a hat, and the next it was freezing rain. It's not a tremendously demanding ride, but you do need to be able to ride 30 miles a day and climb a hill or two. Local benefits? We did spend money in local cafes and retaurants, and biking's definitely better than car or coach. I would have liked to see fewer disposable cups and other items in the hotels though. Overall... France self guided challenging cycling holiday

Memorable parts? The most memorable part was Carolynn and Peter's warm hospitality involving lovely food, generous amounts of good wine and cognac and lively conversation around the dinner table. Domino the dog made everyone feel loved. The road cycling is excellent due to the almost deserted roads and hilly terrain. The routes provided are easy to follow, varied and provide a good workout over the week. Tips? Be prepared to put on weight as the food and wine is abundant and hard... (more)Carol Gray
Rioja cycling holiday in Spain

Memorable parts? The most memorable part of the holiday was the environment of Andalucia itself. The main thing that contributed to the success of the trip was the group leader, Shaun Allan, who I cannot recommend highly enough. Tips? The cycling was just the right side of challenging but I would warn other travellers to make sure they can cope - a couple within our group struggled. Local benefits? The group did spend money locally on food, drink etc and I would guess... (more)Chris Povah
Burma cycling holiday

Memorable parts? The best part for me was the rides around Inle Lake; really peaceful and interesting riding and the lake a source of life for so much. Great bikes and great group all added to the experience. Tips? Go with the flow; if you choose Monsoon season be prepared to get very very wet; that said it was part of the experience and part of life in Myanmar so it didn't really detract. Just take quick dry clothes and several pairs of shoes/rubber ones help. Local benefits? Yes... (more)Justine henwood
