The most exciting part of the holiday was seeing tigers in the wild, especially the female with cubs. (more)Stephen Morris
The most memorable part of the holiday was... seeing the tigers close up, but also spotting a sloth bear and wonderful birdlife. (more)Roland Webster
I absolutely loved my time at Kanha National Park. I was very sad to leave both Kanha and the Courtyard House, but it just means I need to go back again! (more)Whitman Paxton
Memorable parts?
There were many memorable experiences - our rickshaw ride through the Dehli markets was definitely a highlight....what a culture shock! The noise, smells, heat and totally manic traffic dodging around cows in the streets is imprinted on the memory. Seeing the rural life in Rajasthan was amazing - how the locals live in their mud houses, working on the land by hand, and how friendly the people were to us. Staying in a Maharaja's palace was an experience. Seeing the Taj... (more)Janine Jackson
Fantastic trip of a lifetime ! The most memorable parts were our enthusiastic guide and driver, the animals (monkeys, birds and elephants), the beautiful scenery, the friendly people and the wonderful food. (more)jane Dymott
Most memorable? - Everything! From the moment that our tour guides picked us up - Jeffin & Santosh - who were AMAZING & our kids loved! Kerala is stunning, the food, the people - we loved it! (more)Rachel Gardner
There are so many great memories of the holiday, that will live long in the memory. In no particular order: The smile on the face of my daughter as the helped wash an elephant in the river, the scenery around Munnar was beautiful,
the homestay at Dewalokam was just great - jumping and swimming in the river... (more)Philip Hesketh
Memorable parts?
Taj Mahal, Amber Palace, Ranthambhore National Park.
Tips?
Travelling in August is possible. The Monsoon did not affect us much. There are very few tourists and the countryside is green. Don't count on a good match
with other families.
Local benefits?
To the extent that one bought or consumed local products local people benefited. Our impact on the environment was negative (flights, local travel, bottled water, pools etc).
Overall rating?
The key... (more)Alexander Auboeck
Memorable parts?
The game drives are clearly the highlight. Don't expect to see huge herds of wildlife roaming open savannah like you do in Africa. Much of the terrain is hilly and heavily forested (particularly at Bandhavgarh) so sightings can be difficult and infrequent. However be patient, there is plenty of wildlife to see and the sightings you do get will generally be up close. You also get a lot of time in the parks, 6:30 to ~11.00 (with a pick nick breakfast) and 15:00 to ~18:30. All... (more)Peter Brown
Memorable parts?
Seeing the enthusiasm of the children and how welcome we felt at the schools. Feeling connected to the local community and other volunteers whilst staying in the comfortable volunteers house instead of a hotel. Also the delicious authentic Indian food cooked by a lovely local lady at the house.
Tips?
Make time for a bit of relaxation before the project and after as the travelling is very tiring and we would have liked to have had more time to spend in India. Make... (more)Rayner McKenzie
