Each of the five days was memorable in its own way. The evening walk from Mefjord Brygge up to the hut for the Northern Lights safari was special as the lights were particularly impressive that evening. Equally driving huskies through the beautiful winterwonderland was also hard to beat. We also loved the boat trip around the fjord, although there are no whales, as the herrings have moved elsewhere. The most memorable moment was the warmth and hospitality of our hosts (and their great home cooked Finnish cuisine), to interacting with the dogs and harnessing them, to the experience of a wood fired sauna beside a frozen lake each evening, this short holiday could not have been better.

To fly to Ivalo and stay at Nangu Wilderness hotel. The hotel is beautiful and very new, the staff is amazing and they go above and beyond to make tou
feel like home. Next time I would probably hire a car to explore the surrounding.

The Husky Safari and Wilderness Boutique Hotel was the highlight. Brilliant. Such a wonderful and unique experience with a friendly bunch of local and knowledgeable people at hand. We loved all the activities. I think the huskies would be voted top by most of the party. But just the experience of being surrounded by a beautiful snowy trees and scenery and for small (and larger) children, the constant availability of sledges and slopes and lovely deep snow is magical. In one word: FANTASTIC. We were able to engage in such delightful winter activities which we had never done before. Weather was perfect, everyone at the hotel just as pleasant and accommodating as could be, food VERY good and special meals were prepared for me as I am a vegetarian. I would like nothing better than to go back for another visit.
