Photos
Add 4 - 10 high quality, interesting photos that truly showcase your holiday. Photos need to be:- Landscape shape (i.e. wider than they are tall)
- Minimum 600 x 450px (most digital photos taken these days will be at least this size)
- Maximum 4MB file size
- Represent the holiday. A mix of landscapes, sites and activities is good. Highlight architecture and local customs on a cultural tour, or enticing food on a cooking holiday, etc.
- Include a moment that makes your trip stand out and lets customers see themselves there. Travellers meeting a local artisan, a guide pointing out wildlife footprints, a group swimming at a waterfall, etc.
- Are good quality, and where your subject (whether landscape, building or person) is clear, not too crowded with other things, takes up a good proportion of the photo and isn’t in shadow or glare. Colour helps too.
- Show your holiday in the best light to inspire your potential customers. People looking engaged and happy – natural/action shots are good, good weather and visually interesting places.
- Tell us where you are. A cyclist on a road could be anywhere; a cyclist with a forest or temple over their shoulder can take us somewhere else.
- Show the diversity of your (potential) customers where possible.
- Feature your company name or logo (e.g. on a t-shirt, kayak or van) – we will remove these.
- Combine multiple photos into one, or add a frame or graphics – we will remove these.
- Enhance colours to get unnaturally green landscapes or bright sunsets, or are generated by AI. Photos should be honest.
- Show anything you wouldn’t want children to see, or controversial images.
Videos
Videos can really bring your trips to life and help generate more enquiries. To add videos to your page please contact sam@responsibletravel.com. Please do read our video guidelines before submitting your video as we have some house rules to follow.Maps
Maps help customers to see at a glance where your trip goes, and they can be effective even if very simple. To add a map to your trip page you need a link to a static image on your site - e.g. http://yoursite.com/maps/rome-to-turin.jpgIf you don't have a good quality map available, we offer a map creation service with our designer Sam. See an example map in our in-house style. Please contact your partnership manager for more information.
We can't use interactive maps or videos unfortunately. (If you have a Google API key we can accept static map urls starting https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/staticmap...)
Tips:
- Maps are displayed at 990 pixels wide on a computer so we suggest your image is this size or wider. Smaller images will be resized but may look fuzzy if very small.
- Please only add maps to the map section of your trip page, not the photo gallery.
- Don't 'zoom in' too far – include at least one major city/landmark so customers can get their bearings.
- Remember to keep your map up to date. Ideally it's best to use one you display on your own site so that it's updated if the itinerary changes. If your map link changes remember to update it on your page on Responsible Travel too.
