This journey explores the mountainous regions of Northern Vietnam, including Ba Be National Park and rural areas of Cao Bang Province. Guests are encouraged to avoid littering, stay on appropriate paths and respect the natural environment and local communities.

For road transfers, we use vehicles with fuel-efficient driving practices where possible. Our drivers are encouraged to avoid unnecessary engine idling and use air-conditioning at a moderate setting.

In addition to hotels in towns such as Cao Bang, we use locally operated guesthouses and homestays, including traditional houses in Ba Be. We encourage hosts to maintain traditional features and use locally available materials such as bamboo and rattan for renovation.

We also share practical suggestions with local hosts on reducing single-use plastics and conserving water in their daily operations.

People

At our guesthouses and homestays, we use local ingredients such as fresh vegetables and meat, and encourage hosts to source food from nearby households and villages. Where appropriate, we also work with local guides who provide regional knowledge.

In towns such as Cao Bang and Lang Son, we choose locally owned restaurants where possible. We also provide guidance to local hosts on welcoming guests, preparing meals and arranging accommodation for international visitors.

The communities we visit, including Tay, Nung and Thai communities, have distinct traditions and customs. We encourage hosts to maintain these traditions and share their cultural knowledge with visitors.

Our guides introduce guests to local customs, daily life and history, helping them interact respectfully with local people through conversations and shared meals.
