We focus on small-scale, locally owned lodges and camps rather than large international hotel chains. This means a more authentic experience for you, while directly supporting local employment and businesses. Many of the places we use are designed to work in harmony with their surroundings, using solar power, limiting water use and keeping guest numbers low.
Accommodation and experiences are closely linked to conservation. In wildlife areas such as the Serengeti and Ngorongoro region, park fees and conservation levies contribute to habitat protection, wildlife monitoring and community projects. Game drives are led by trained local guides who prioritise ethical wildlife viewing and respect animal behaviour at all times.
Responsible travel goes beyond where you sleep. We encourage a slower pace, and provide practical guidance on reducing waste and respecting local cultures. Animal welfare is central to our approach, guided by independent experts Animondial, ensuring all wildlife experiences are ethical and conservation-focused.
As a business, we aim to practise what we preach. Our Brighton-based team works in a B-Corp-certified office space, operates almost entirely paper-free and partners with Earthly to support nature-based solutions that remove carbon, restore biodiversity and improve livelihoods. A small contribution is added to each itinerary as standard, helping protect the landscapes that make journeys through Tanzania possible.

People

The accommodation we work with in Tanzania follows the same ethos as across our trips worldwide: small-scale, characterful lodges and camps that are locally owned, authentic and closely connected to their surroundings, rather than large international hotel chains. Tanzania offers some of the best examples of this approach, with safari camps and lodges designed to blend into savannah, woodland and crater landscapes while supporting local employment and community livelihoods.

We maximise local economic opportunities further by working with locally owned excursion companies wherever possible. Throughout the trip, you’ll meet experienced Tanzanian guides, whether on game drives in national parks, walking through village areas or learning more about the country’s extraordinary wildlife and ecosystems. Their local knowledge and perspective add real depth to each experience, while making sure tourism income remains within the local economy.

A key part of our itineraries is our close collaboration with in-country partners who are based in Tanzania. These local partners help shape each journey from the ground up, offering insight into daily life and enabling us to move away from overused routes. This creates more meaningful travel experiences, helps reduce pressure on busy areas and supports the Tanzanian economy long before you arrive, as local teams are involved in planning and operations from the outset.

Our partners and accommodation providers are strongly committed to conservation and the protection of Tanzania’s natural heritage. Many operate in or around protected areas and contribute directly through park fees, conservation levies and community initiatives that support wildlife protection and habitat management. Guests are often provided with clear guidance on travelling responsibly, including respecting wildlife, minimising environmental impact and being mindful of local customs and cultural norms.
