Nestled in Uganda, our eco-friendly camps offer more than just memorable stays in pristine locations. Every night spent with us contributes to our Future Generations Trust, where we strive to empower locals to thrive in harmony with nature, safeguarding both their livelihoods and the wildlife that calls Uganda home. From our involvement in The Large Carnivore Monitoring Project to supporting vital organizations like the Uganda Conservation Foundation and Bwindi Community Hospital, every stay with us fuels impactful change.

Direct conservation of mountain gorillas
A significant portion of every permit goes straight into protecting gorillas and their habitat.
This includes:
• Anti-poaching patrols and ranger teams
• Veterinary care (treating injured or sick gorillas)
• Monitoring gorilla families daily
• Habitat protection and preventing deforestation
• Support research and ecological monitoring

Controlled tourism (low impact, high value)
Permits are limited (only a few people per gorilla group per day), which:
• Protects gorillas from stress and disease
• Keeps the experience exclusive
• Ensures higher revenue per visitor rather than mass tourism

Eco-friendly camps
Thoughtfully designed with sustainability in mind, our eco-conscious safari camps run on solar power and feature gravity-fed showers powered by an efficient solar water heating system to reduce both water and energy consumption.
Compostable lunch boxes and refillable water bottles for guests on game drives – no single use plastics
Locally sourced seasonal food
Shampoos, soaps in Uganda camps are produced by locals and are eco-friendly

People

By staying at our lodges, clients support our Future Generations Trust. Within Bwindi, one of the projects this fund supports is Bwindi Community Hospital (providing vital health care to the local community) and Ride for a Woman (empowering local women).

Real income for local communities
A portion of each permit is shared with communities living around the parks, funding:
• Schools and education projects
• Health clinics
• Clean water and infrastructure
• Community development initiatives

Jobs and livelihoods
Gorilla tourism creates direct employment for local people, including:
• Rangers and trackers
• Porters (often from nearby villages)

Local Employment
By employing locals (guides, camp team, reservations team = all local) we create job opportunities and foster skills development, directly contributing to the growth and empowerment of local communities.
We’re all about growing talent from within. Max, our General Manager, started as a guide, and some of our senior guides began as tent attendants. Yet, our mission extends beyond conservation. It’s about nurturing hope and healing within the communities we serve. The places we take you to are treasures to cherish, and it’s non-negotiable to us that we operate a responsible company that plays a vital role in preserving this continent for future generations.
