CARBON REDUCTION
Our Cuba retreat itinerary has a heavy focus on development through sustainable travel. We work with local partners that have an eye toward eco conservation and protection of the landscape. We have a local farm to table meal planned with intention to eat food sourced locally and sustainably. Any time we buy snacks for the road, we look for fresh and local bites between Havana and Trinidad. Vegan and vegetarian options will be available throughout the trip.

ENVIRONMENT & WILDLIFE
On all of our trips, we focus on reduction of plastic and make sure that water jugs are available for refilling personal reusable water bottles. In the event of waste, recycle and composting, we direct client to the appropriate bins and disposal method. In Cuba, drinking clean water is an absolute must and we provide guests with a special discount code for a Grayl water filter if they'd like to reduce plastic waste even more by drinking filtered tap water.

Our Cuba itinerary includes two UNESCO world heritage site visits. One in Trinidad, one of Cuba’s best-preserved colonial towns, and the other in Viñales, in the Cuban countryside in the north-central Pinar del Rio province.

EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY
Each day we will have workshops with our experienced retreat leader to pause and take an inventory of what's next. This trip is open to female retreat participants looking to gain a conscious perspective on their life, build resiliency skills and celebrate womanhood through somatic and spiritual practices. Building these skills while experiencing new perspectives and another culture is fantastic way to build your soul vessel!

We work with the same local tour guide each trip, and he has keep knowledge of the achievements & challenges, history and culture of Cuba and provides in-depth perspective and context as we learn about the unique place we're visiting. We believe that a sound understanding of the local culture and community is essential to a transformative travel experience.

We also engage in a community partner activity to learn about social challenges in Cuba. We'll have a presentation with time to engage, ask questions, and see first-hand the impact that they've had. A portion of trip sales are donated to the NGO partner.
