Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
Planet
We believe that we are doing our job well when our customers leave a tour having had a fabulous, fun-filled holiday but also come away with a broader appreciation of and respect for the natural environment. We encourage people to only take photos of plants and animals, they must look after the environment wherever possible. Flinders Island is remote and the nature and wildlife is well preserved, so we want to help keep it that way. Get the chance to experience stunning wildlife and good quality bird watching, whilst having pretty much the whole place to yourself. We appreciate this slower way of travelling, and ask travellers to respect their environment by leading by example and giving advice for having the lest amount of impact possible. We share transport when and where possible, stay in locally run farm accommodation and eat only locally produced food, lowering our footprint.
We plan our walks to utilise toilets wherever possible and if not available, we provide clear instructions on burying waste and carrying out any sanitary items. We adopt a reduce, reuse then recycle policy wherever possible that everything is recycled from plastics, papers and ink cartridges.
Walk with a company that has an Advanced Eco Tourism certification and aims to introduce people to a range of natural and cultural environments and assist in developing an understanding and sincere appreciation of those environments. Your holiday help us raise money for conservation projects within Australia.

On this trip, we’ll spend our first two nights on a locally owned accommodation at Mountain Seas Lodge which features both mountain and ocean views which is nestled at the foot of Mount Strzelecki. The accommodation also supports advanced eco tourism and is well known for its rugged nature and wilderness, abundant wildlife, pristine vistas, and the cleanest air and water in the world. We incorporate quality local tourism experiences into our walking holidays. Our tourism experiences include the Walkers Lookout accompanied with the locals and and challenging ascent of Mt Strzelecki and Mt Kosciuszko.
After a rough day , we eat at local restaurants which cook nutritious and wholesome meals using locally grown products whenever possible and freshly caught local seafood upon request. These restaurants are managed and employed by local staffs.
We support local adventures that help create a better environment so that we can preserve and protect our natural environment and the wildlife that exists within it.
