Description of Namibia & Botswana safari adventure
Explore Africa at its wildest with two of its top safari destinations – Namibia and Botswana.
Starting in Maun, Botswana, you’ll head to the Okavango Delta and Guma Lagoon, before crossing into Namibia on day six of this trip to head to Etosha National Park. Next, it’s time to swap safari for Namibia’s other highlights, visiting Brandberg, Swakopmund and Walvis Bay, before crowning your trip with the world’s highest dunes at Sossusvlei. Your tour ends in Windhoek.
Highlights on this trip come thick and fast. At Etosha National Park in Namibia you get to stay right by a floodlit waterhole, so that through the night you can watch as animals come to drink – you never know who will stop by. In the Okavango Delta, you’ll be watching out for hippos as your guide steers your narrow mokoro – a traditional dugout canoe – through the waters.
Namibia is known for its vast landscapes. On this trip you’ll get up early to climb Sossusvlei Dunes to catch them in the beautiful early morning light, and on your free day in Swakopmund you have the opportunity to fly over the hostile, wreck-strewn Skeleton Coast.
There are some long driving distances, sometimes on unpaved roads, to cross these vast landscapes. Accommodation is a mixture of guest houses, wildlife lodges and wild camping experiences in permanent tented camps – often located so that you have the best wildlife experiences.

Carbon reductionBy travelling in a small group, we ‘tread lightly’ to minimise our impact on local resources and the environment. Energy-saving bulbs and water-conservation signs utilised in the lodges are a great way to reduce environmental impact. Accommodation and restaurants in the itinerary use locally sourced food which has not been transported long distances.
Environment and wildlife
On our wildlife safaris and game drives, 25 percent of all park entrance fees are reinvested into essential infrastructure and services related to tourism in the parks of Namibia. This is done through the Game Products Trust Fund by the MET (Ministry of Environmental and Tourism). In addition, by running game drives in Etosha National Park, we are contributing to local community initiatives and helping to fund the protection of the wide range of species that live there.
Our trips adhere to ABTA’s industry-leading animal welfare guidelines to ensure the best possible practices regarding working animals and wildlife viewing.
We rewild 1,075sqft (100sqm) per passenger for all trip and flight emissions.
We work with our partners on the ground to proactively reduce waste; this includes eliminating all single-use plastic water bottles by providing refills for reusable bottles.
