Our local partners have been working with Galapagos communities for over 30 years. By involving local people as guides, the programme creates income that doesn't rely on fishing.

Island hopping means you'll explore on foot, by kayak, snorkelling or by small boat, which uses less fuel than larger vessels. Guides brief you on the national park rules, and you'll spend time with local people who explain how the islands' ecosystems work.

People

This community-centred programme is designed to help Galapagueños benefit directly from tourism. It was developed with the roughly 150 residents of Floreana Island and the park authorities, and includes time with local families such as the Cruz family.

You'll also go out on the water with local former fishermen who now work in marine education. All of the suppliers we work with in Ecuador are locally owned, so the money you spend stays in the islands.
