The key aim of this trip is to get people out to Kenya to compete in the Lewa Marathon and thus raise funds for the Tusk Trust charity (each individual needs to raise £1750). Tusk works across Africa to champion locally led conservation efforts. It helps to develop communities around conservation areas and to protect conservation land for endangered species and general wildlife. This trip allows guests to directly contribute towards this amazing charity and raise awareness for the work they do.

During the rest of the trip, Safari Series prides itself on its sustainability and works to prioritise the environment. Their camp is built using no cement and almost entirely out of canvas by local builders. Their cars are conserved older models so no new cars have to be bought and created. Food is all locally grown and bought and they only serve vegetarian lunches each day. They are also located in an elephant dispersal zone that aims to help protect these amazing animals.

People

Tusk and the marathon help to support communities around conservation areas and aim to provide them with steady incomes to see a strong return from setting their land aside for conservation. By also prioritising community led conservation efforts they are helping to make locals the key stakeholders.

Safari Series employs every single person from within 10km of the conservancy gate, ensuring strong employment of the local area and meaning all guides and staff truly know the area. This provides direct service back to the people in the area, and guests are also encourage to engage with the staff on key issues from conservation to the impacts of colonialism.

They also sell locally produced items in their shop as well as supporting local small scale farmers through their food being bought and produced within the area. They have also pledge to give away 100% of their profits by 2050 towards conservation, community and research projects within the Loldaiga area.
