1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The street night tour in Ho Chi Minh city!!

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Do some reading beforehand, really reach out to the person helping plan the trip, find out about the people, tipping, and culture as much as possible before hand.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

"Somewhat" I do feel we helped local people in that we stayed in Homestays and that really benefited the locals, however, I do not believe we helped support or reduce environmental impacts in Vietnam. We used a LOT of plastic water bottles, never recycled and could have come up with a better way to have our own bottles refilled.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

It was amazing, 5 stars!!

Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.

Planet and people

Small group: We set our set departure group to a max of 08 persons thus we are not being seen as a mass travelers groups and also giving everyone a chance to talk, make friends and learn from each others.

Our travelers: We have to inform them well before the trip on how to behave to the local people, how to help save the Bay of Halong, say no souvenir made from the endangered species. In Halong Bay, we encourage our travelers to pick up trash to clean the Bay.

Less fuel: We use proper van or minibus for our groups, when possible, our driver will stop the engine and also we turn off the air-conditioning on the van. We use more green activities than using vehicle, such we kayak in Halong instead of engine cruise, we cycle in Mekong, Hue, Hoi An & trek Sapa , Hue so that we do not have to use van…

Local guides: We select good guides then do the training locally for them on guiding skill and responsible travel, our guides are local Hanoi, locals in Halong, Sapa, Hue, Hoi An, Saigon and Mekong

Buying locals: We use locally owned hotels/guesthouses at all places, eat at local restaurants in Hanoi, Sapa, Hue, Hoi An, Mekong….

Visit local projects: We visit the responsible tourism project for the fishing village Vung Vieng in Halong bay and community based tourism in Sapa.

Cultural impacts: We and our travelers know well that we should not enter someone’s house without permission, not taking picture without asking first, we teach our travelers some basic Vietnamese so that they can do some ‘hello’, ‘good bye’ and ‘thank you’…

Entrance’s fee: Most of the places we visit require fee from visitors to come in like Halong Bay, Imperial citadel of Hue, Hoi An ancient town, Sapa villages, a large percentage of this fee is going to conservation and protection of the areas/sites.
