As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
PlanetWe have been living by the coast in Montenegro for over 12 years. We are lovers of nature and along with the stunning Montenegrin coastline we also very much enjoy the mountains of Montenegro and especially the UNESCO National park of Durmitor. We absolutely love and appreciate our surrounding nature of sea coast and mountains! Montenegro offers perfect nature with scenic settings, for guests to enjoy both while on adventures and whilst relaxing! Along with pristine nature there is an abundance of great adventure activities on offer for all our guests to take part in, we hope all our guests will have time for relaxing and chilling out as well!
Nearly all of our activities have the concept of Eco tourism and mostly all of our activities are deemed as not harmful to the environment. We provide all our guests with a friendly welcome meal and drink on arrival of stay. We also provide packed lunches, which we buy all our produce directly from the market place, from local farmers in the area, such as locally produced jams, preserves, fruit berries, meats and cheeses.
At our coastal base camp we shall be discarding wherever possible all rubbish for recycling i.e. cardboard & plastic waste. We also offer our guests free usage of mountain bikes which we shall encourage our guests to use, so they can travel around the area by Eco transport!
Our team leaders are all local to the area and we hope to show our guests the benefits of protecting our environment on our activities. Our Trekking team leaders are also part of the conservation of the Orjen mountain and will explain all aspects of nature to our guests on activities.
PeopleWe directly aim to create jobs and employ and empower local people in this region, which are heavily dependent on incomes from tourism. Locals in the coastal region generally live from tourism and so any involvement in this sector would be a massive chunk of their income.
We employ 6 team leaders and also have a staff for the day to day running of our camp. We are hoping that we shall be able to make a difference in the community by employing locals and they shall have a direct benefit of being employed and gaining an income from our weekly package stays.
We shall encourage all of our staying guests to explore Herceg Novi for themselves on their free afternoons and evening times, and hope they'll visit local restaurants, cafes and eateries in the town which will also economically help other local business's.
This is our first season in 2020 offering this added coastal tour, having had 5 success seasons in the mountains, we shall hopefully be as successful with this tour on the coast as we have been in the mountains; and shall endeavour to include as much possible for local people to be involved, employed and for income to be spent back into the community here.
