The itineraries we create are guided by three aims: looking after the places we visit, supporting local communities and helping our guests travel responsibly. To do this, we work with a boutique team on the ground in Chile who have been running responsible trips since 1994 and share our values.

We've chosen small, boutique and family-run hotels throughout, such as Mallín Colorado Ecolodge and Estancia Cerro Guido, a working estancia where you may spot pumas on the land.

Visits to protected areas such as Cerro Castillo National Park, Patagonia National Park and the Marble Caves include entrance fees, which help fund the running of these sites.

Activities such as hiking, walking and horse riding let you enjoy Chile's landscapes at a slower pace. Local guides explain the landscapes and wildlife you're seeing and share practical tips for visiting responsibly. On the trails, that means taking all rubbish out, sticking to marked paths and keeping a respectful distance from wildlife.

People

People are at the heart of everything we do. This itinerary balances Chile's best-known highlights with lesser-known community experiences, so that more people share in the benefits of your visit.

Every year, our local partners train guides in safety, service, local knowledge and responsible travel, so they can share their passion and introduce guests to local customs and ways of life.

We choose every experience with care, so you meet local people and places in a genuine way. In Chiloe, you'll be welcomed into family homes to share meals and traditions, which brings income straight to local families and helps keep rural ways of life going. At Estancia Cerro Guido, you'll be taken on a tour of the ranch and learn about the region's heritage.

The properties are small boutique, locally run or family-owned hotels (Mallín Colorado Ecolodge, Cabañas del Lago Hotel, Palafito 1326 Hotel, Estancia Cerro Guido and Rugendas Boutique Hotel), so tourism revenue goes into the local economy. These hotels employ local people, use regional products and draw on Indigenous design.
