Description of Learn Spanish in Granada, Andalucia
For well over three decades we have been teaching Spanish to foreign students in southern Spain's cultural capital city, Granada. Our language programmes are all accredited by the Spanish Instituto Cervantes and we aim to provide a relaxed and informal environment both in and out of the classroom so our students get to learn and experience Spanish culture in the most comfortable way possible.
Our classes take place from Monday to Friday and start from the first day of your holiday. As we limit the size of each class to just eight students we can ensure a personal language learning experience as well as allowing participants to get to know each other over the course of a week, or more.
Classes are held in the morning from 9am until just after midday and feature four 45min segments to allow time for breaks in between learning as well as presenting manageable chunks rather than an exhaustive daily schedule.
We encourage all levels of Spanish language students to try our classes and feel that the setting for our school, in the centre of Granada, also allows for further opportunities to practise during the afternoon.
As a university town featuring some of southern Spain's most exciting architectural achievements, not least of the Alhambra, Granada represents the endearing character of Andalucνa with a whole range of optional activities, including Flamenco, Tango, Salsa, tile making and cookery classes adding to the cultural attraction of learning Spanish in its country of origin.
The surrounding area, also, is just as exciting as the city centre with the Sierra Nevada mountains inviting hiking, rock climbing, horseback riding and mountain biking to also be undertaken in addition to learning Spanish.
From tapas tours and salsa sessions to Arabic heritage and guided photography classes, we offer a full programme of cultural activities to complement learning Spanish as well as a wide choice of accommodation options to ensure you get to experience the area in a style that's comfortable to you.
If you have any questions as to our Spanish language classes or any of our combined cultural workshops and activity sessions please don't hesitate to get in touch.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The School's ability to put me in a class (of 3) of people who were at the same level of Spanish as me, the quality and direction of the teaching and the friendliness of the staff.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Complete the language assessment test as accurately as possible. If you don't want to be in shared accommodation, find your own.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
I think local people appreciated that we'd come to learn their language and were keen to communicate with them. I can't comment on environmental impacts (particularly as I had to come by plane) or conservation.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
It was an excellent and stimulating experience.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Joining a spanish class with other students.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Granada is very hot in August! The school itself is cool and comfortable but think carefully about your accommodation and how you will spend the rest of your time.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
It was very helpful to stay with a host family and use local shops and cafes outside the main tourist areas.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Excellent. The teachers were enthusiastic and supportive and the school arranges cultural activities outside of the formal classes so I was able to join a group to go to a flamenco performance at the Alhambra.

We are a non-profit co-operative organization whose members each participate in the decision-making process of the school and receive the same salary. All of our teachers are native speakers with university degrees, and they are specialists in teaching Spanish as a foreign language in Granada. All of the accommodation offered to students is selected carefully by the school and is within walking distance. The school pays the rents entirely to the accommodations and only charges a small commission to cover the administration expenses.
All fees paid by the students for cultural activities go entirely to local guides and companies. The school only charges a small commission to cover the administration expenses.
The school offers weekly conferences concerning ecological local problems; we collaborate with the WWF and donate on a regular base for the campaign Salvalince.
We endeavor, if requested, to find a suitable language partner from Granada who is learning your native language. This enhances the language learning process, promotes intercultural exchange and encourages autodidactic learning methods.
We also work with local non-government organisations in the field of language learning. The school offers on a regular base free Spanish Courses for African immigrants and refugees to learn Spanish in Granada.
