We loved the whole holiday - the perfect blend of relaxing and being active!! Canyoning specifically deserves a mention! As does a visit to the local farm to milk goats and make bread and cheese. The scenery, the relaxation, the welcome at the hotel, the glorious setting, the range of locally run activities (canoeing horse riding swimming, mountain biking etc), the joy of the children as they explored and enjoyed the freedom, the hotel and it's amazing environment...good job this box is character limited - I would go on all day. We had a great time and would recommend it to families....Swimming in the river pools, visiting the Alhambra, picking figs and almonds straight from the tree, watching the sunset on the terrace, keeping track of the geckos, getting our water from the spring: many wonderful memories.

Memorable parts?
The city of Granada with its historic sights and mixed culture, the beauty of the Sierra Nevada national parks, and the quality of the language school (escueala Montalban).
Tips?
Sommers in Granada can be too hot for hiking, if you book the language and hike option aim for spring or autumn which is just perfect! Do attend the cultural program offered by the school, it is a great opportunity to practice Spanish.

Memorable parts?
The school is very well run. The staff and teachers are extremely professional and experienced. The two teachers I had were excellent, which I think make all the difference, and contributed to a wonderful experience. The school also organised a trip to see a stage performance of "Poet in New York" which was amazing. It was set in the Alhambra gardens which are beautiful and had a great atmosphere!
