Our encounter with a big group of white-beaked dolphins jumping playfully and the beautiful beaches and peaks of the islands. Barra and Canna were amazing and the red sunset in Muck was unforgettable. (more)Maria Frantzi
The whole experience was wonderful, particularly enjoyed the dinghy trip round the Burnt Islands reserve where we were treated with great views of the Common Seal colony. Also enjoyed discovering another world through the microscope investigating plankton samples. (more)Andrew Swales
No light pollution and clear skies allowed for spectacular stargazing. As an added bonus we got to collect and view plankton under the microscope, a truly unique experience. (more)Catherine Egginton

Rosie worked tirelessly to make it the perfect vacation, from preparing the fleece, collecting the plants used in the dying, the dying itself, and of course, carding and spinning the wool. She and Alex made delicious, healthy meals and made sure the experience went smoothly. (more)Celia Winkler
Going through the whole process of watching the sheep being sheared, working with the fleece, gathering plants to dye with, creating amazing colours and then using them to create my felted wall hanging. (more)Kathy Lovatt
The experience was incredible, better than we imagined. It was magical to work with all the natural materials in such a beautiful setting. Ten out of ten. (more)Robin Lentz

Memorable parts? The weather was amazing but even more so were the wonderful crew - Steve, our chef - so inventive and creative. He went out of his way to make sure we all had food we loved, but also stretched our taste buds in the way he cooked and displayed the dishes. Iain our skipper made sure all needs were catered for. For example I made an off-the- cuff remark about another hook in my cabin. When I came back from my walk there it was! Another passenger had difficulty walking- he took... (more)Etta Geras

Had a fantastic experience onboard St. Hilda. Simon and Louise were perfect hosts and made our trip magical. The food was super and plentiful, the weather caused some changes to be ade to our plan but this did not detract from a marvellous holiday. (more)Michael Conn

Memorable parts? Being "on the water" was exhilarating! When the weather was good, it was glorious, and when the weather was stormy, it was exciting. Tips? Miminize luggage. Storage space is modest. Layers are necessary. Don't forget the rain gear. Be flexible. Much of the itinerary is dictated by weather and tides. The holiday providers office staff are very kind to help with arrangements. Try to take time before/after the cruise to visit Oban and Tobermory. Lovely towns. Local... (more)Sue Ellen Christensen
St Kilda & the Outer Hebrides wildlife cruise, Scotland

Memorable parts? Hard to chose but probably the time we spent on the Shiants Tips? It's casual and great fun. Local benefits? Spending tourist dollars always helps the economy of these remote communities. As well as seeing superb scenery, we learnt a lot about indigenous wildlife, and the need for conservation to enable the return of bird species. A good example was the successful rat eradication program from the Shiants. This increased our understanding of the issues... (more)Carolyn Coffey

Memorable parts? I was very happy that we found the puffins rock (Dún Mòr) on Sanday. With another traveller I surrounded the peninsula with the help of a map with only a few details like some walls, the church and the silhouette of the island - no paths! But the puffins were exactly where they had been indicated on the map, and we had a wonderful, long walk. But I also enjoyed the boat trips - plenty of time to watch the sea, the sky, the birds, the seals, even some dolphins... Tips? Enjoy... (more)Brigitte Horlitz
