The Great Southern Touring Route
Take in the revamped waterfront of Geelong on your way to the Great Ocean Road where you’ll see Victoria’s best coastal scenery, surf culture at its finest and some real geological oddities, including the famous Twelve Apostles. At Port Fairy turn inland and explore the granite peaks of the Grampians national park, where you’ll find some of Victoria’s best walking trails and some truly awe-inspiring mountain scenery. Head back to Melbourne via the historic gold rush city of Ballarat.

The South East Touring Triangle
Explore the vineyards of Yarra Valley and the tree ferns and eucalypts of the Dandenong Ranges before heading south to Phillip Island, Australia’s wildlife island. Here you’ll see everything from koalas to wallabies as well as Australia’s largest colony of fur seals and the heart-warming march of the penguins. Return to Melbourne via the Mornington Peninsula, with its picturesque coastline and numerous wine and food producers.
The Gippsland touring circuit
Head south from Melbourne to Victoria’s most popular national park, Wilson’s Promontory, where you’ll find beautiful beaches, numerous walks and wildlife aplenty. From here continue east through historic Port Albert to the Gippsland Lakes for birdlife and fishing trips. The drive back to Melbourne takes you through Walhalla, once a booming goldmining hotspot and now a peaceful mountainside community with a host of lovingly restored 19th-century buildings.
