I did the hike together with my daughter who is ten years and I think from this travel she could more benefit for her life than from any other materialised
consumerism such as buying stuff … (more)Sarah Dorkenwald
It was fantastic. We loved it (even when it rained). (more)Lucy Chadwick
The hike to the mountain refuge was an extraordinary experience. It was quite a challenging walk, but absolutely worth it. Along the route we were treated to
stunning views and a river to swim in. (more)Richard Davidson
Special highlights for us included secret local lakes to swim in and hiking/sleeping in the refuge. This holiday allowed us to each find our own source for life again and we have such treasured memories that will last as long as our lives. (more)Elspeth Lorriman
This holiday met our family’s needs on so many levels. We
all agree it has been our most successful and memorable holiday to date. Excellent! (more)Donna Fleming
Memorable parts?
Spending a full week in nature with animals, no car, no smart phones, spending real quality time with each other and meeting people.
Tips?
If you want a real break and appreciate nature and animals then this is perfect.
Local benefits?
Yes, without a doubt.
Overall rating?
I can't rate this holiday highly enough. It is one of the best we have had in many years. (more)Lorna Mackie
Such an unusual and great blend of yoga in the morning as the sun came up and fun circus skills, provided by fun, caring people. The community feel that the team creates is very special. Nothing is too much trouble. Our kids aged 10 and 12 had a ball and enjoyed mingling with the 35+ other kids form the UK. (more)Britta Bayman
Fabulous!...We loved the location of Skiroc next to the beginners slopes and a short ride on the local train to a bigger area. Lovely people, ample and wholesome food and just a great weeks skiing. (more)Holly Whittle
A fantastic holiday. The kids had a blast with all the other children and after-ski
activities leaving the adults free to relax and chat in front of the fire. (more)Lorraine Yearron
The views from the rooms are breath taking. The owners go the extra mile to ensure that your stay is as perfect as possible...A unique and restful experience which we hope to be able repeat one day. After only five nights we came home feeling recharged and with many fond memories. (more)Nick Medhurst
Best holiday ever... The tour of the old city of Nice and the trip to the village of Tourettes the St Jeannet winery and the cooking class with Corrine were truly memorable. (more)Vicki Wright
We stayed at the house for 4 nights with our teenage boys and we were so happy we did. Corinne and Benoit make you feel welcome as soon as you arrive...It was one of the highlights of our 3 weeks in France! Benoit does great excursions so highly recommend you go on his tours too!
(more)Jenny Lincoln
(The holiday was) Terrific! The accommodation provided a great base to explore the Loire Valley, and it was great at the end of the day to come home to our little cottage in the countryside. (more)Marie Kelly
Five stars for getting the right amount of things done & rest. The countryside is
beautiful, the gite and courtyard were lovely, the hosts wonderful and the chateaux have to be seen at least once in a lifetime. (more)Ilinca Anghelescu
It was the perfect family holiday with a 15 month old. With 3 separate cottages all surrounding one courtyard, it provides the perfect place for a shared family holiday, but still giving you your own space to retreat to! (more)Becky Reid
We loved the stunning location and tranquillity of the area. Although the roads were a bit "white knuckle" at times the rewards of the views dotted with towns hanging from the cliff sides were amazing. A real treat for any photographer. Providing access to Nice, just over an hour away or heading further into the mountains the location provides the option of dipping into nature or culture. (more)Karen Mckiernan
It is the best holiday we’ve had in France and that's from a perspective of over 40 years holidaying in France...The walking in the beautiful mountains in the Mercantour with snow, sun, isolation and good companions. Why did I reach 67 before finding this most beautiful place? (more)Tony Bell
The Alpes-Maritimes and Mercantour National Park is a fantastic area to visit and we would consider this to be one of our best holidays. (more)Lourdes Roffey
We had a great family holiday - Liz and Mel were terrific hosts (more)Wendy Dickson
Excellent...one of the most memorable parts was. Lunch on a summit La Cime de Guilie at 2999m with 360 degree views encompassing Italy and France. (more)Katie Toms
The boys loved cayonning - jumping off of cayons into pools; I loved horse riding American style through the mountains - it was fantastic & Liz was a terrific guide. We also climbed up to some glacial lakes with Mel - which was an incredible experience. (more)Natalie Wiggins
We really enjoyed the week in the Auvergne it is very unspoilt and it is an area
you can "get away from it all"....The area is ideal for walkers or most kinds of outdoor activities. There are lots of waymarked and signposted trails, that range from gentle woodland strolls to full mountain hikes. (more)Phil Smith
The quietness and natural beauty of Mont Dore in November was the most memorable part of the holiday (more)Mary Cherian
Our three teenage children claimed it was the best holiday we've had in
years...that's high praise indeed! Relaxed, easy to find something to enjoy in
stunning surroundings, with a friendly, quality service offered by attentive
hosts. (more)Sarah Brennan
The instructors, the professionalism and the enthusiasm they all put in really made this a holiday to remember. From myself as an unfit 40 year old down to my 12 year old son we were looked after and made to feel welcome. (more)Andrew Riley
Seeing my children develop new skills and challenging skills in a safe environment was the most memorable part of the holiday...Excellent. (more)Briane Loram
5 stars, listen, I never fill in feedback forms but this company has given my family the best holiday ever and basically we are all looking to go again. Well done everyone involved! (more)Andrew Riley
Everything was exactly as we expected and wished. We really liked that we could be on our own little secret spot close to nature.
(more)Christine Leitner
Relaxing holiday in the middle of the countryside - birds, deer, catfish and siebenschlafer for neighbours - so pretty cool! (more)M Scott
Marks out of 10 - 10! Really enjoyed the set up of the cabin, very thoughtfully done with lots of information, loads of smashing little touches (loved the walkie talkies!) & fresh baked muffins as a welcome did it for me. The location was exquisite.
(more)Sally Cowburn
The gite was lovely - for our 18 month old daughter the highlight was definitely the chickens! For us the highlight was being able to open the door to a beautiful, quiet garden and relax while she could safely explore. (more)Emma Harbour
Leave your toys and books at home!! Everything you need for a couple of weeks is already there. (more)Robert Bradley
Amazing. A lovely cottage with lovely owners who couldn't do enough to help. We received a lovely warm welcome. The cottage was immaculate. Everything had been thought of. (more)Kathryn Rawlinson
We absolutely loved the trip! I was traveling solo with my 5 year old daughter. We did one of the 12 km round trips recommended by our hosts which was spectacular to refuge de Sales...we had marmots playing on the path in front of us for half an hour, crashing waterfalls, paddling in the river and glorious views. (more)Katrina Shakespeare
Excellent - stunning area, with lots to do. I was with my 18 and 13 year old and we did an activity or walk, bike hire each day and were "happy tired" at the end of each day!- (more)Peter Wightman
Best bit: River-rafting. (more)Cormac Lucey
It was a beautiful place to stay. The owners couldn't have been any more accommodating. (more)Janice Chantler
We loved being surrounded by historic French villages; staying in a beautiful rustic (but VERY comfortable) 19th century stone cottage; the warmth and approachability of our hosts Nicole and Alex Crawford; and being spoilt for choice when arranging our daily activities. (more)Jane Lewis
Every activity was great - extremely challenging but with great guides who helped us all to succeed (more)Kathy Halliday
The activities were all superbly planned, organised and great fun. White water rafting was enjoyed by all of the family, the scenic mountain walk was enhanced by local species being pointed out for us and information on how the various rock formations occurred. (more)Mary Fretwell
I particularly loved our mountain walk, with spectacular views and carpets of Pyrenean irises, and I think one of the highlights for all of us was swimming in a beautiful mountain lake. (more)Trisha Cochrane
